Gratuitous lolcat rebuke
To the dumbass in Harvard Square who walked into the tunnel, then came back out just as the train was arriving:

lolcat - fail

What do you mean "walked into the tunnel"?

He walked past the "danger, no passing" sign and disappeared for a minute. He probably didn't go that far, and possibly could've stayed where he was without getting run over--I was standing farther down the platform, so I couldn't see exactly where he went.

In any case, it was somewhere he definitely shouldn't have been, and may or may not have been all that dangerous, but freaked me out a little.

Sounds like he was scouting the old harvard platform. Something I've always wanted to do myself, but 1)I have this weird aversion to being hit by trains and 2)there's got to be cooler things to get arrested for.

In fact you can also get to the old Holyoke platform by going through the "Employees Only" doors under the escalator, walking past the employee bathrooms, then going through a door at the opposite end of a (VERY dingy) store room. This will put you right out onto the old platform.

For what it's worth, there *is* actually more than enough room on the service walkway where the tunnel curves for the train to clear a person, but you'll still be seen by the train driver, which you probably don't want.

...and *god* knows enough headway on the red line to make it to the other station by walking along the tracks. Especially during off peak hours. Regular service is not one of the MBTA's strong suits. ;-)

Ah, ok. The driver did see this guy, and wagged his finger at him sternly as the train pulled in!

This was on the Red Line outbound platform.

Uh actually I work for the MBTA and wasn't wearing my uniform. Pretty sure you're the one failing here.
