About
This community is open to past, present, and future Arizonans, as well as visitors to Arizona. (People who are simply interested in liberalism or progressivism in Arizona, for whatever reason, are also welcome.) The purpose of this community is to provide a forum for Democrats, Greens, or other people on the Left to share information and thoughts. We also welcome moderates, conservatives, and independents who are sympathetic or supportive of liberal or progressive causes and wish to join this community for the sake of promoting those causes. In short, we don't require loyalty oaths here.

This is a largely informal forum for political rants, questions, news, commentary on the news, and announcements of events. Subject matter can be about state, national, or international politics, or anything tangential. Feel free (but not obligated) to introduce yourself when you join; this community can be used for networking, if you'd like. Please do not use this community if you want to troll or argue with with people. Debates are healthy--and a fundamental part of a democratic society--but please be respectful of other users.

This is one of several political communities for Arizona. Others include [info]azpolitics, [info]az_democrats, and [info]az_libertarians. For a more exhaustive list, see the "Guide to Other Communities," below. It also also includes Arizona-related RSS feeds, such as [info]azcongresswatch, [info]tenfortomorrow, and [info]turnazblue.
