Why: You know those fics where someone takes the plot of a classic movie and rewrites it using characters and settings from another fandom? Yeah. This is one of those. Quite possibly the best one ever written--a post-demon-apocalyptic version of Casablanca with Cordy in Rick's shoes.

Why: I think I'll just let the fact that I devoured this--even though I don't 'ship either of the main pairings and had no knowledge, at the time, of the universe it was crossed over with--and then went out and bought the Black Jewels Trilogy to get to know that world better speak for itself. It's one of the best Atlantis AUs out there.

Why: This is, at least IMO, the crown jewel of Trip/Hoshi fic, and one of those brilliant pieces of writing that can make a fic cliche feel fresh and new.

Why: Another fantastic mythology-bending epic, and to tell the truth that's why I really love it, although the fact that Richie is at the heart of the change doesn't hurt. But seriously..."there can be only One"? How fair is that in a 'verse with so many great characters!

Pairing: Starman/Jenny, umm...maybe a dash of Duncan/Anne and Nick/Nat but not much
Summary: Take one vampire cop, several Immortals, one half-alien witness to a Quickening and two FBI agents way out of their jurisdiction, mix well...and then have Sam leap into Schanke.

Why: How many crossovers do you know that could juggle FIVE fandoms and treat them all fairly? With cameos by a few more? Yeah. That's what I thought. *grin*

Why: You know that epic I've been working on forever? The fantasy AU Stargate one? This is, ultimately, the root cause of it, and its magic hasn't faded since I stopped being a M/S 'Shipper, which should tell you something. *g*

Summary: Just how far would you go to save the world?

Why: This is one of the classics of the fandom, and with good reason: a nail-biting, stunningly plotted thriller more complex and gripping than many published novels. It's just a pity the author never did finish the sequel. :-/

Why: My one and only complaint with the Daniel/Sha're pairing is Vaitare's horribly passive portrayal of Sha're, but this isn't her; this is the stubborn, spirited Sha'uri of the movie, and the way the fans would have demanded that her story end if this was the version we'd had on our TV screens.

Why: I saw this on crack_van and got so engrossed I was up all night reading it (seriously--I finally forced myself to stop at Chapter 50 at 6AM and pick back up after work), which is pretty darned remarkable for a post-"Chosen" fic in which ( spoiler ) really happened!
