weird. worked. i wonder if y/t is blocking embeds in lj? all of the y/t embeds today are saying "we are sorry this video is no longer available."

and now they're all working again, at least for now.

I think Rand is an awful philosopher; but she can certainly write convincing polemics. Though 60 pages is a bit much, even by her standards.

I think it was a bit long too, I skipped over it on my first time reading the book (because I wanted to see how the book ended) but went back to it later.

i think it's a bit in reverse: i find her most interesting when non-polemical. :) what's your basic criticism of rand? i'm asking from curiosity.

I've mentioned this some time ago in this forum and elsewhere. I find her laissez-faire attitude to government inconsistent (check out Ray Child's Open Letter to Ayn Rand), and her view of free will is crazy (see my more recent post). I don't like her placing the individual abover society. Etc. But I'm not getting into this now, sorry; I'll make a lengthy post about one particular problem at some point in the future, and then I'll talk to you about it. I'm very busy at the moment, so won't be able to do anyone justice.
