Is your layout truly awesome? Awesome Layouts is a layout rating community for web and graphic designs of livejournal. Users come here to get honest critiques and advice on their designs, and to in turn give advice to beginners. If you would like to participate, please join today and apply!
It is very important that you read through these rules carefully and take note of all the conditions of our community. If you break the rules you will be automatically rejected. If you break the rules more than twice, you will be banned. Depending on the seriousness of your offense you could be banned automatically. You can avoid any of this negativity by simply reading the below...

To submit yourself to the community, put "new" and state whether you have a paid or free livejournal account in the subject line. We have no little form or survey for you to narate your sad and pathetic life, but let us know anything you think is important. [i.e. ideal resolutions]

If your livejournal layout is default with just a background, you can forget applying. If you apply with a default layout, you will be automatically rejected. Generator+bg will only be accepted if the mods approve it.

Community accounts, screenshots, a "friends" account, and offsite layouts are NOT allowed. We need a live preview of the layout from the account that belongs to you. It must be on livejournal, and it must be yours. Please follow the application or your will be rejected. Here is an example of what a good application looks like.

In order to be accepted, your score will be averaged after the span of 3 days or when at least 15 judges have voted. We have to ask members NOT to change their layouts during the rating process. Doing so is grounds for automatic rejection. Only scores 7 and above will gain you membership, anything below is failing. Sorry.

If you have not recieved your stamp after 3 days or 15 votes, please make a post in [info]al_maintenance with a link to your submission explaining that you haven't recieved your stamp. After waiting 3 days and making that post, you can change your layout and we will grade you based on the scores you recieved.

We do not, I repeat, not take layout requests. Go to [info]overridehelp , a community that does.

Please submit livejournal layouts made by YOU and you alone. There is no point in us grading someone else’s skills for "your" layout, so just don't. You will be automatically rejected if we catch you.

You are not allowed to comment on any other entries other than your own post until you have been accepted! NO EXCEPTIONS! WARNING: [info]kashmirdreamer will ban anyone found disregarding this rule will be banned immediately.

Applicants found being rude, snarky, or not taking comments or scores maturely and gracefully from judges will be banned. You chose to submit yourself to OUR community to be rated so if you don't like the scores we give you, leave. No one dragged you by your ankles and forced you to join.

If you get rejected, it’s okay... you can create a new livejournal layout and try again in one week. If you submit your layout before the week is up, your layout will be automatically rejected.

If you have any problems not addressed in the rules or would like to talk about being banned, got to [info]al_maintenance .
You can ask to be re-rated {say if you redid your layout} as much as you want. Your new score will not affect your membership though, once you are accepted you are in no matter horrible your future layouts are.

Once you have received the accepted stamp, you can post it in your journal, user info, website, or wherever, we don’t give a shit, just as long as it’s there.

When you make a post be sure to put "stamped" in the subject line and make the post friends only.

Please don't self-promote. Go to [info]al_maintenance if you want to affiliate and such. You will be banned if you promote other communities without permission. :D Go to [info]rating_promo or [info]comm_promo if you want to shameless promote. We know how hard it is to get a community up and running (WE DID IT), but don't clog our place with spam.

WHEN RATING OTHER MEMBERS: Please put your grade (from 1-10, 10 being the highest) in the subject line of the comment. Members not adhering to this rule might have membership revoked and have to reapply to the community. It doesn’t matter whether you're mean or nice... but be honest and make sure you give a reason for your decision!
