An Appology...

  • 15th Dec, 2007 at 10:32 AM
To anyone who is thinking of coming to the AGW Cocktails & Karaoke night at Cafe Mambo's tonight...

This event has had to be cancelled last minute as there has been a double booking. Unfortunatly we were not made aware of this until last night by Staff at Mambo's. We have tried in vain to source an alternative venue for this event but as it is still close to Xmas this has been impossible. We can only appologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Please keep checking either at our website (www.agw.techmad.co.uk) or here for details of future events...

Again appologies...

Tomorrow night is not on

  • 15th Dec, 2007 at 12:54 AM
...just to warn anyone who might be thinking of coming along tomorrow who might be travelling.

I have a pass for the local spa and in the evening will have a few drinks in the bar getting to know the uber cool Polish people (they're all really friendly here in Aviemore).

Mmmmm Polish vodka is goood :) All aboard the carpet ship.

Hoooray!!

AGW Bad news...

  • 6th Dec, 2007 at 8:50 AM
Due to circumstances out with our control... a double booking at The Vault, the Friday night entertainment at this venue has now been cancelled. We are currently trying to source an alternative venue and will keep you posted with regards to this. However please note that if you do turn up to The Vault this is now a pay-on-the-door event featuring Hard House. As far as we have been lead to believe our booking for the Karaoke at Mambo's on the Saturday is unaffected, and will go ahead. We will be having a collection and small raffle to raise funds for a dear friend of ours DJ Lucy*fur http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=59503701&blogID=327002730

Please keep checking either on our website (www.agw.techmad.co.uk) or here for the latest information regarding 'The Snowball"

On a happier note... we can confirm that the next Aviemore Gothic Weekend will be held over the 20 - 22 June 2008, and will feature a Midsummer Masquarade Ball on the Saturday Night at The Cairngorm Hotel.

AGW video for your viewing pleasure.

  • 8th Jul, 2007 at 12:22 AM
Hi all,

First of all, sorry not to be at the terror ceilidh this evening, my health hasn't been too great for a while and I ended up having to head back to Aberdeen rather too early (despite having bought a ticket for the ceilidh that day).

I really enjoyed meeting you all and hope to keep in touch. I wonder if I might still be able to grab an AGW t-shirt though? In the meantime, I made myself useful and uploaded the video I shot today from the steam train trip. I have a (much) better full-quality video of it which is much much clearer. If anyone want a copy of it I'm sure I could arrange it. In the meantime, here it is:

Accomodation..

  • 1st Jul, 2007 at 12:32 PM
Hi people :)

I've just joined as I've just managed to talk [info]_gh0st_ into going if I can find cheap deals with travel and accomodation.

I've found train tickets for £40 or we could do the bus journey for a little over £30 so thats sorted but I've been finding it difficult getting reasonably priced accomodation. If people know of anywhere that is available sat-sun (working fri as didnt decide till now to go- damn!! Not working mon but if accomodation is too expensive then can only do one night) that'd be very appreciated. Looking for somewhere which is up to £60-£65/ room.

I have tried to find things- Im not here wanting others to do my dirty work honest! Ive emailed places and used different websites (4hotels; scottishaccomodationindex; visitscotland) but seems places are booked etc.

Anyone know anywhere still free??

Hope we can go- getting a bit excited :)

OMG!!!

  • 29th Jun, 2007 at 7:48 PM
I did an interview for the Inverness Arts Council about our forthcoming Aviemore Gothic Weekend......

OMG!!!!!!!! Really hadn't been expecting this full page article!!! Anyone else want tome come along for the weekend - there is plenty of cheap accomodation avaliable in Aviemore for the weekend, contact the Aviemore Tourist Information Office for details.

White Water Rafting?

  • 20th Jun, 2007 at 10:11 AM
[info]sheepthief and myself are planning on doing the 1/2 day white water rafting on the Sunday.

Ace Adventures indeed! :) Spoke to the chap at Ace Adventures and if we want to use our buy one get one free tickets, he would prefer if there were a minimum of 4 of us. So who else is up for it? If there are 4 of us it will work out to be £22 each.

The sight of me in a wetsuit is free *lol* :p

Where are people staying?
