As most of you already know, the Dexcon 7 schedule is up and running on the website. I'll be running a Buffy RPG on that Friday of the convention starting at 3pm. So if anyone is interested in playing, send an email to Vinny (dexcon@dexposure.com) saying you want #R202 and then email me as well, who knows? I might let you pick your character from the list ahead of time. ;)

| for those of you going to Dexcon |
[20 May 2004|04:01pm] |
I'll once again be running my D&D adventure "Doorway into Shadows" at various times during the event. The program isn't finalized right now, and I will post about this again at a later time, but right now I'll be running it at the con thursday night at 8, friday night at 8, and saturday night at 8. All of the same characters are available, except for the ogre mage, which was claimed by Socket. Here's the list again:
human monk human druid elven ranger elven healer drow rogue drow swashbuckler gnome bard gnome favored soul orc barbarian dwarven cleric dwarven fighter minotaur mariner minotaur marshall ogre barbarian ogre mage-Socket centaur ranger goblin rogue hobgoblin hexblade hobgoblin warmage dragaunian paladin
Remember that if you play, the best roleplayer of the session gets to keep their chosen character for a higher level game in the future. Hope to see you all there, and I will be posting about this again when we get closer to Dexcon.

| Nexus Webcomic |
[06 May 2004|08:02pm] |
Just for kicks (and not for profit or publication as of the moment), me and Cassie are thinking of making a webcomic using Nexal characters. We're making sure sure everyone we include wants their character included, and so far we have 17 characters (though only 10 players). I'm doing humor, cassie's doing artwork, we're both totally screwing our own characters in doing so. Anyone that wants can add their character in. Note that if you want, you CAN review both the script and the artwork before it goes through. This will probably turn out to nothing, but hey, ya never know. AIM: Dragontologist or AndroidOrion for info and stuff.
--Andy AKA Felegro, Wind Taker AKA "That Tree Guy" Ordained Head of House Helvetia
P.S. we're still looking for a name. any suggestions?

i post here because this is, like, the only RPG related lj community im in.
somewhere along the line (after living in dorms with a myriad of different gamers, and all of our stuff eventually ending up in other people's rooms, etc) i ended up with a map that of unknown origin. it's made by wizards of the coast and it's a map of a land called faerun.
now, i have no clue about anything beyond being just a player, i thought that this might be in the realm of GM/DM territory.. what is this a map of!?!? is this a map that comes with some book and it's for you to make up the people that live there? or what? anyone ever hear of anything like this?
interestingly, the colors used happen to go well with my room, so ive been using it as decoration.. but was curious if it actually meant anything anywhere.

Ok, so, here's the ( uber-sheet: )
And here are some of the site links where I took a bunch of the questions:
http://www.iprimus.ca/~pjduane/characterbuilding.htm (specifically the "Inspiration for Writers CC" at http://tritt.wirefire.com/tip8.html though they are all good links). http://www.ifvchicago.com/process/wr_characters_questions.shtml (the whole site is a great resource for writing) http://coe.west.asu.edu/students/dsouser/sed.htm
I also have a batch of other questions, but I can't post them quite yet - because they're going to be part of a skill challenge in Paradise Lost! An IC improv competition, with the audience voting for the person they feel has best gotten into the mind of their character. I can't post any more details, because they're all still in the works, but I do have a question/poll for all of you, if you would be so kind as to help out me and Alf:
What are some mundane situations you find every day that people might not think about for their character (i.e. paper or plastic, and why)? How about details of their life before coming to the Nexus (What was the character's favorite toy as a child)? And what are some interesting situations that participants would have to imagine their character's reactions to?
Many thanks, and whenever this thing gets off the ground I hope to see everyone there, as a participant or an audience member (both are important!).
-C
