Avatar at New York Comic Con!
We still can't talk specifics about what will be happening and who will be there and other OFFICIAL information of that sort. (Though trust me. AWESOME.) However, I've been told that I can reveal one aspect of the Avatar-related content at NYCC:
I'm helping to organize an Avatar-related event at the con, the focus of which will be the fandom itself. We'll show AMVs, profile fancomics, share our favorite fanart, have a cosplay contest, maybe read some fanfic -- generally, just showcase some of the really fantastic stuff that fans have come up with! It'll be a lot of fun, BUT!
WE NEED YOUR HELP.
I'm only one lady, after all, and there's only so much of fandom that I've seen. So what I really need are recommendations! The more the merrier, seriously. I can't guarantee how much we'll end up using, but any and all suggestions would be appreciated! The only thing I'll say is that this it shouldn't be more than PG-13 (though I suppose some selective editing could be done in some cases to make things kid-safe) and that we're tending more toward badassery and funny than drama and romance.
AMV and other fan vid recs would be especially awesome, since they can be much more difficult to sort through!
BONUS REQUEST:
We really really really REALLY want some Rock Benders at this panel. As in, a band who will get up on stage and play Avatar-inspired music. WE WANT IT SO BAD WE CAN TASTE IT. Even if you aren't local but have some musical talent and the means to record it, MP3s and music videos would be fantastic. Because hey: if Harry Potter fandom could do it, SO CAN WE.
