AboutThis is the community for people who have autoimmune diseases, know someone who does, or just want to learn more about autoimmunity in general. Here you can share your story, ask questions, seek support, gripe and complain about your disease and/or treatment, or find hope and inspiration for recovery. It's hard to find other people who have autoimmune diseases and lots of us feel like we're going it alone. There are others of us out there and this is the place to come together and find each other.
What is autoimmunity?

There are many, many autoimmune diseases. A comprehensive list (more or less) can be found here.

Play nice and don't be a jerk. Autoimmunity is very serious and it's a long hard trail to recovery, which may never happen. No flaming or trolling. Also, this is an autoimmunity community. Let's try to keep on that topic. Posts that do not fit these guidelines will self-destruct.
No misinformation and/or conspiracy theories. Outrageous claims demand outrageous proof. Claims without such proof cause more harm than they help. You may not like the pharmaceutical industry, doctors, or Western medicine in general, but there are people here who wouldn't be alive or have a good quality of life without them, so deal. Also, just because you think holistic medicine, herbal therapies, and other alternative remedies are "hippy New Age baloney" doesn't mean that they aren't effective for people who aren't being helped by the traditional route, so also deal.
No advertising of any type without moderator approval. This is self-explanatory. Email ryl AT livejournal DOT com if you have a service that you think is appropriate.
Consequences and Repercussions
People who abuse the moderator's and/or members' trust and patience by breaking the above rules will be warned and the offending post/comment deleted. Repeated violations will result in the offender being banned.
