Hi :-)
Since this is a community for all things Aussie I am going to do a little bit of advertising :-D
I have recently started working for a small Australian owned online company called:
shopandswap4baby.com.au
It's a great shop that specializes in selling gently worn and new kids clothes from size 0000-6
Now this may not interest those of you without kids, but I am sure you may have friends or family that might find this exciting as it is a great way to buy designer labels in great condition and at a fraction of the original price!
If you can spread the word that would be awesome! |

| Munch Bunch Books |
[Apr. 26th, 2008|07:10 pm] |
Hi! I am on a bit of a search and wonder if anyone can help me?
I am trying to find copies of "The Munch Bunch" books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munch_Bunch for my daughter. They were widely available when I was a kid, but went out of print in the late '80's early '90's.
They have recently become "collector's items" so they are incredibly hard to find. I am not interested in them for this purpose just for nostalgic reasons and so I can read them to my daughter.
I have checked Ebay and local op-shops to no avail. Any help for sourcing these great books would be awesome. Just leave a comment if you have any info.
Cheers! |

| Ebay petition |
[Apr. 17th, 2008|08:20 am] |
For those that Ebay you may have noticed that there will be a new change to the payment system of Ebay.com.au
As of the 17th June the only form of payment that will be accepted by the site is PAYPAL. I regularly trade on Ebay and have always offered PAYPAL as a payment option in conjunction with other forms, so I have no gripe with the use of PAYPAL.
What I do have a gripe with is the lack of choice now available to traders and buyers alike, and the fact that PAYPAL is owned by Ebay and the fees are very high, making this look like a money making scheme rather than protecting the interest of their patrons. Ebay Australia is the only Ebay which will be introducing these changes.
For those that may be interested here is an online petition:
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/ebayau/
The changes are currently being investigated by the consumer watchdog.

| Floridian expat-wannabe. :) |
[Mar. 23rd, 2008|10:48 am] |
Okay, so! Like I said, my boyfriend and I are considering moving to Australia in a few years. He's an engineer (specializing in Aerospace and Materials, and more specifically, high-temp shape memory alloys), and I'm currently a receptionist/admin assistant, with goals to be either an editor or a paralegal. And we both love the beach. :)
I have a few questions about life in Australia, if y'all would be kind enough to answer:
And really, anything else. :) I may come here with more questions, so thanks for your help so far! |

Having checked the website, it'll cost 15 pounds to get it airmailed over or I have to get it through TVSN, a TV shopping channel. I would like to know if anyone knows a stockist in Australia, especially Melbourne.
Thanks for your help. |

| Did you go to Falls Festival, or know someone who did? |
[Jan. 16th, 2008|03:28 pm] |
Hey, I hope this is okay to post, if not, just delete it :) I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who has a very sweet endeavour...
So. listen up! If you went to the Falls Festival in Tasmania '07/'08, you could get a free drink! That is, if you are a pretty girl who was wearing a white dress and at the front of the mosh pit when Gotye went on! Remember that cameraman on the stage, who signaled to you to ask if you wanted a drink? He'd still like to buy it for you!
If this is you, or if you wanna help out with this worthy cause... visit: www.doyoustillwantthatdrink.com

| Internet in Coffs harbour NSW |
[Dec. 24th, 2007|12:54 pm] |
Hey people!
Just a quick question regarding internet providers and connections in Coffs Harbour as I am moving up there in January.
I would love to hear if anyone has any recommendations for internet providers, preferably a smaller company as I am so sick of Telstra and Optus! But also anything else I should know? I have looked around a bit but am pretty clueless when it comes to this sort of thing.
Thanks :) |

What in HECKS name is wrong with people??
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,22737250-5006301,00.html
Now Santa saying "Ho, Ho, Ho" is politically incorrect?? Because of AMERICAN slang?
Anyone agree that is this is probably the most stupid thing ever?? Since when does anyone think Santa is calling you a prostitie when he says "Ho, Ho. Ho?" and do you remember terror as a child as Santa said "Ho, Ho, Ho?" I personally think some stranger wanting you to sit on thier lap is more scary than his greeting! |

| | chipper | ] | I'm looking for housemates to fill a Chapel Hill fortress! Three busy but friendly former college kids of 20-21 years old have:
- Two rooms available now - One upstairs with built in wardrobe and potentially a bedframe, one downstairs with large mirror, wardrobe and bedframe (an ensemble). - One room available from December 11th - Upstairs with built in wardrobe, unfurnished at this stage.
The Fortress is furnished and has a royal feel to it: large kitchen, pool, outside party area and extremely close to shopping facilities and bus stops for the city, more shopping centres and the University of Queensland.
Rent is $110 per week per person but will go down if we get more than one new person. The whole place is $440 a week, and we split it equally.
If you are interested or know someone who is looking to move please reply back to this blog or contact me via my LiveJournal page. |

| | bouncy | ] | Hi everyone,
I'm looking for native speakers of Russian to volunteer to help out with my honours thesis. Basically, what I need you to do is record yourself reading a series of sentences, and e-mail the recording back to me. It shouldn't take any longer than ten to fifteen minutes of your time.
If you're interested at all, just leave a comment, or send an e-mail to stephanie.campisi@gmail.com.
Thanks so much!

| Trip to Cairns |
[Aug. 21st, 2007|10:50 am] |
I'm an American from Texas, looking to travel around Australia and New Zealand. I live in Sydney. I want to make a trip to Tazmania, Cairns, and NZ. My first trip will be to Cairns. Anyone know of any good deals out there for the trip. I am a diver, so a live aboard would be nice for 3-7 days.
Thanks for any tips in advance. |
