Found dog between Bastrop and Elgin

I know this is not bastropcommunity or elgincommunity, but I thought I would at least try.

We found this dog on Hwy 95 between Bastrop and Elgin this morning around 11:30 am. She was almost hit 3 or 4 times, so we pulled over and picked her up.



She is less than 1 year old, has adult teeth, about 30 or so pounds, female. Not spayed, vet was closed so no word on microchip but I'm guessing not.

I don't want to take her to TLAC if she's somebody's dog, but I don't know if we can keep her, either. She's OK here for now. I've given her two flea baths and she just eats and eats.

Please let me know if she looks familiar!

ETA: She's actually 43.5 pounds. I guess I am stronger than I thought!

probably a dumb question but have you checked craigslist? it's my answer to everything. almost. yelp comes next. haha. :)

Yep! TLAC, the vets around here, left a message at Bastrop's shelter, just posted to Craigslist and checked there. Any more? Maybe Petfinder...

My heart jumped because she looks like my friend's (who lives in Elgin) dog, but her dog is a very light yellow lab, with tags.

I hope this girl finds her home!

I'm actually looking for that exact kind of dog (german shepherd / golden type mix) right around that age. I can't promise that I can take her sight-unseen, but I'd love to come by and see her this weekend if you don't find an owner.

See if she answers to Hazel. That looks exactly like my friend's dog and they live between Elgin and Bastrop.

No go. I'm thinking more and more than this dog doesn't belong to anyone -- she eats and eats and she was absolutely covered in fleas.

Lemme know if you wanna get her fixed. I was gonna post an entry in here for a free dog spay paid for by me as my xmas present and good deed for the year. I am a surgery tech at Epet and would love to help you help her find a new home by checking health and getting up to date on shots. Lemme know.

Well, we couldn't find an owner... and she is a sweet thing indeed... so, well, uh, she's crunching ice on a new dog bed right now. If that answers your question. Hehe.
