Frames? Poster Sized?

  • Jun. 28th, 2008 at 11:46 PM
I am in need of some frames for a showing of some of my prints, and have no idea where to go.
I don't have a lot of money to spend and I need about 20 frames.

11 sized: 20x30
and some: 16x24
8x10
and 10x15

I can cut them down a little to fit the frames if they aren't exactly this size.

Please comment if you've seen a REALLY good deal on these. :) Thanks!
(and I'm willing to go online, though local would be better, so if you have an online source post too. thanks)

x-posted to my personal journal. :P

Check Jerry's Art-o-Rama next to Shepler's Western Wear off 35, near the Greyhound station.

Goodwill usually has good supplies of "art" of which you can re-use the frames.

Michaels has a 50% off one regularly priced item coupon good through July 5.

I heard a lot of the store is on sale thus no luck for the coupon but I have no idea. Round up some friends, print a bunch, have a good day!

American Frame is supposed to be good. It's a web retailer, might not be good if you're in a rush. I just ordered from them for the first time, so we'll see. They do include a free mat with purchase, which is good if you want to do things up professional like. Plexi is separate, but I still found the prices quite reasonable.

When I need frames I wait until Hobby Lobby has a frame sale. If I have a poster that doesn't exactly fit, I buy the next size up frame and have them cut a custom mat (which is really cheap) and then it looks nice and is easier than having to cut the poster.

How cheap are you talking? I need 13 mats cut to unusual sizes but my sister told it was really expensive at Hobby Lobby....

I think when I got it done it was a few dollars, maybe $6? I can't really remember but it wasn't too much. But I just got a standard size mat and had a square cut out of the middle. Nothing fancy. I guess if you have a lot to do it would add up ...

I think most HL's have a sign up in the framing department that list their prices, if you want to drop by and take a look.

I echo the above Hobby Lobby coupon. They're not open on Sundays, but check in on Monday. According to their website, all their frames are 50% off from June 30 to July 5th. Score for you!

This is where I always buy my frames & generally my mats too.

Coupon is only good for regularly priced items... no good!

Sorry, I didn't mean to say coupon. Their website indicates that ALL their frames are 50% off next week, no coupon needed.
