Hey, what happened to Curras? I drove past the other day and they looked shut down for good.

I won't miss it much. There food wasn't really all that good.

The north location is gone--whether moved, or shut up, I don't know. The building is going to be the new location of the Frisco Shop, which finally lost their lease down the street after fifty years or so.

Curses!
Frisco's moving? Damn! I love that place. At least it's not going far, but that's a bummer that they're losing their original location.

Oh, god, that makes me so sad. I love that place. It's so cozy and perfect. At least it's not shutting down.

Hrm... Walgreens or CVS on every corner. Think we're over medicated much?

Re: Curses!
No kidding! They just built a brand new Walgreens on Anderson Ln, at Northcross, right across the street from a CVS.

Re: Curses!
I'm okay with that. I like Walgreens over CVS, they don't try to push the discount card on you.

That happened to Trudy's South too. Landlords trippled rent, so they moved to the spot near the Metropolitain movie theater at Stasney and 35.

I went there once and didn't think it was all that... the North location, that is.

Met my friends at the South one and had a better food experience.

I'd have to agree with everyone else, the food just wasn't that great. If you want some good tex mex in that area, Elsi's is pretty good. And cheaper than curras was, too.

It's not Tex Mex, which is usually why people don't like it. They have great interior mexican dishes. Their Conchinita Pibil and their Pescado Vercruzano are excellent.

Actually, Frisco lost their lease and was desperately looking for a new location nearby at the same time that Curras was looking to expand to a bigger location. So Curras offered their space to Frisco and moved their staff to other locations until they move to their new place, or at least that 's the story I have heard through the grapevine from Curras.

I like both places, actually, Frisco is great for the atmosphere and the awesome waistaff, and a steak with eggs in the morning. Curras was always pretty good for me, though I prefer the south location too.

Curras closed both the Burnet location and the Parmer/McNeil location. They weren't making enough to pay rent supposedly.

So the only two locations left is the Oltorf one and the one in North Carolina.
