I'm going into surgery tomorrow morning and I won't be able to eat "real" food for a while after that. I get to have my "last meal" today and I really want some excellent fajitas and great chips and salsa. I know that it's Sunday and Mother's Day, so I'd preferably like a place that would be on the less-crowded side for lunch. I like my fajitas sizzling, my salsa flavorful and medium-heat, and my chips on the thin and crispy side (and preferably fresh).
So, Austin, what places in town have the best fajitas and best chips and salsa? It also wouldn't hurt if they have bitchin' guac and queso, either.
P.s. No Trudy's.

Hi everyone! I'm graduating next Friday and my family wants to take me out somewhere "nice" to eat afterwards.
The only place I could think of was The Oasis, but I went there about 3 years ago and remember the food only being barely mediocre.
I'm looking for some upscale steakhouse that takes reservations (preferably). I was also considering something like Uchi, but Dad and Grandma are anti-sushi. :(

I need to rent the following: (for the 17th)
chairs
tables
jumping castle/moonwalk
margarita machine
Anyone have someone/someplace they know is a good price and reliable? People that will deliver these things to my house is best, but open to any and all.
Starting with y'all first, since this is the best community EVER! :) LOL
Thanks so much for any suggestions!

I'm not the packrat type but I've got a ton of old New Yorker & Economist (more of the former) magazines that are piling up and I want to find a good place in Austin to donate. The Economist is a great magazine overall and New Yorker has a short story in every issue but they are both weekly and I can't keep up.... seriously, I used to be so literate and now they sit on my bookshelf (along with everything else I've been meaning to read) and just mock me...
Do the public libraries take magazine donations?
My one concern is that a good portion of the magazines still have my name/address on the mailing label... this is likely a problem I'll have to remedy on my own but I'm posting here also on the off chance that there might be a place that will do this for me after I donate (yeah fat chance but it can't hurt to ask)...
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
EDIT: I'd like to expand this to include books as well - I've got a ton of old Computer Science text books (amongst other random books) that I would like to go to a good cause... preferably something non-profit and non-religious if that's possible...

So, I am a poor college student looking to move into her first place with three other friends. I go to UT, but the friends I'll be living with have most of their work/school affairs in the South.. so any cheaply-priced, but not cheap quality apartments I should look into?
ALSO, I may have to buy another car, seeing as how this move may not go by well with my parents, and since they pretty much pay for everything right now, I doubt they'd be so merciful as to provide a mode of transportation. I will be riding the bus, but I would still like a vehicle as a back-up. Any help? At all?
Thanks, from the bottom of my penniless, but well-educated (sure) heart.

The cheapest gas I saw as I was driving all over Austin today was at the Citgo (I think) on the northern frontage road of I-35 at Howard Lane. $3.54/gallon for regular unleaded. Just a heads-up if you're passing by.

Does anyone have any experience with Vespa Austin?
Specifically, I've pretty much figured out what I want, but I'm not sure what the standard protocol is. Should I haggle over the price? How long should I plan for "closing?" I've heard the customer service is pretty bad - are there any individuals there who are decent? Do they allow test rides?
