BS

Can anyone point me to a bar that has a mechanical bull? I Googled it, but the info I turned up was over 2 years old and the bar it mentioned (Jovita's), has no mention of it on their website.

Ideally I'm looking for a place that has the machine as a permanent fixture, as this all comes down to a dare and there's no telling what day we'll all be able to gather to settle the dare. ;)

Thanks!

Travel Agent - Cruises

  • Jan. 21st, 2008 at 8:56 AM
Hey,

I'm wanting to set up an Alaskan cruise for my grandmother.

Anyone have a travel agent they'd recommend? Bonus points if they specialize in cruises.

(I know there are a number of websites for me to set up the cruise, but I'd rather talk to someone in person.)

TIA.

Band management?

Is there anyone out there in a band with an official, outside manager? How did you find them? Do you have any advice on how to get good management and what to ask for?

Hot Tub Hourly

I heard there was a place where you can rent hot tubs hourly at some facility here in austin. Its rooms with hot tubs in them. does anyone know about this place?

Why CAN'T I have my cake & eat it too??

*sigh*
I do NOT want to turn into a 'bride-zilla'.

But I had this GREAT idea to try a pot-luck reception for my wedding; all intimate-like, we'd bring the cake, and host it at my apartment complex's party room.  No hassle with waiters, just the fam and close friends....

But NOOOOOOO!
They won't rent out the room b/c they can't guarantee that the rest of the office would be "secure for that kind of event".
*sob*

What's an already anxious bride to DO??

I turn to you, good people of this fine community.
Where in Austin could one have a somewhat small wedding reception(think 30-55 people)?  Not a restaurant, not someplace that will bleed me dry or take my firstborn...just a SPACE?!  Bonus if they already have tables and chairs and the like...

Extra bonus if you have stories to tell =)

Thor needs a good home people of Austin!

Thor needs a home.

Thor is the puppy purchased by my roommate Shannon around Thanksgiving - he was born around October 9th.
He's part German Shephard and part Akita, and absolutely adorable.

They say he's had his shots, he was purchased at a pet store in Lubbock (I have # if you need it).
He is housebroken (for the most part) - they're just having difficulty finding a place that they can move into that he's welcome and will fit their schedules.

I love this dog to death - he needs a really good home!!

We are looking for a Van or Truck bench seat for an upcoming theatre production.  It doesn't have to be in good shape.  If you don't have one, any suggestions short of breaking into a vehicle in Westlake and stealing their 3rd row would be welcome.

Oh yeah and we need it yesterday.

Referrals: Paying it Forward

  • Jan. 21st, 2008 at 4:40 PM
I'm going to be taking my dog to Taurus, and the form is asking me to tell them who referred me so they can get a free play day.

So, Austin, who referred me? First person to respond with their full name gets put on the form, and this post will self-destruct soon thereafter. ;) Should be someone who already uses their daycare service, rather than boarding.

Dried Flowers

  • Jan. 21st, 2008 at 9:15 PM
Where can a body find a variety of dried flowers?

I do not want fake flowers! I also know of some websites, but I'd prefer to do the local thing.

This is for an arrangement, not for medicinal purposes.

Has anyone ever been to the Cypress Valley Canopy Tours out in Spicewood Springs?

Is it worth the price of admission?
