But posted speed limits are for good weather.
If the speed limit is 55mph, but the roads are slick and very wet and icy, and you insist on going 55mph, you can be ticketed.
If people are driving 35 mph, when the roads are slick and icy, its probably so they don't wind up being one of the 40 (probably higher) dumbasses that didn't know how to drive and
wound up having to leave their car on the side of the road. (no offense to those who had to leave their vehicle as a direct result of someone else who was the dumbass)

My boyfriend and I are looking for a 1 bedroom apartment/condo/townhouse under $800 in the area from say with boundaries of 28th to the South, 38th to the North, Red River to the East and Guadalupe to the West. Basically I mean North Campus/Hyde Park.
We have an apartment finder, but she's too dead set on certain places and I know there is a lot more out there than what she shows us.
Can anyone recommend any complexes that fit this description? 1-1, <$800, North Campus/Hyde Park, the more bills paid, the better, enough parking so that we can both park our cars. Apartment, Condo, Townhouse all fine.
I appreciate any tips and if we end up moving into any of these places, I'll be sure to mention your name so if you live there you can get some kind of credit or whatever some places do.
EDIT: We are looking to pre-lease for an August move-in. Sorry for leaving out this info before!

I posted a couple days ago about some properties near me for rent, and I just wanted to update. My fiance got a tour of the house across the street, and he says it's really cool. It's one bedroom, one bathroom, tile floors in most of the house, but carpet in the large bedroom that has two good-sized walk-in closets. The owner's brother is a welder, so the kitchen has stainless steel counters and backsplash that is really cool and kind of industrial looking. Chris says that the coolest part of the house though is the large, screened in patio. It has two ceiling fans and would be perfect as an additional living area or for parties. It's $1200/month, which isn't too bad considering you can see Lake Austin from the mailbox and our street turns into the neighborhood park and boatramp. The lot is HUGE, big enough for two houses, so plenty of room for boat or jetski storage, your dogs, or whatever.
Like I said before, it's a great neighborhood, and I'd love to get some cool people to move in, so that's why I'm posting. We had great 4th of July and New Year's Eve parties out here and shot fireworks off the dock. People are friendly and a little ecclectic, but pretty private and it's very peaceful. Please e-mail me or reply here if you want any more info!
