Go look at the moon. Now.
I'll wait.
....

..
What the fuck!? That's amazing! Someone outside of the city should take some pictures with less city lights blocking it.
More info on a moon halo for those who like looking up at the sky. http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/halo/46ha l.htm

Any respectable 80's music fan remembers A Flock of Seagulls...think "I Ran" & "The More You Live The More You Love" and other wacky hits.
Well they are playing in Austin (the original lineup) on Feb. 24 and my band is opening for them!
We're still getting show details together...if you want updates (like where to get tickets ahead of time, etc.) sign up on our mailing list: http://www.dax.org/join.htm
It's going to be a fun show!

Any recommendations for great apartments in the N/NE area? I would prefer something 10 years old or less, safe, good value, not a lot of criminal activity or noise, decent parking, good maintenance, well built, and plusses are nice staff, great floorplans, exterior appearance, etc. Thanks!

We'd love for you to come out and let us check out your 'do! Come in for a cut and help out this great cause. We're asking for a minimum donation of $20 for each cut.

Does anyone know where exactly Section 35, row 8 is (at the frank erwin center)? On the diagram: http://www.uterwincenter.com/maps/r ound.html there are two section 35's. Is it the one closest to the stage?
Hey kids,
They put me in charge at Opal Divine's Freehouse (700 w.6th st) of a Sunday night movie thing in the upstairs dining room. We're going to project movies on a big screen and run them through good PAs. Sunday nights are now also happy hour all day so there's another good reason to show. The movies will run from 8:00 pm - whenever they're done so come on down and help me get this thing started right. Here's the schedule so far...
Sunday Feb 12th-Serenity
Sunday Feb 19th-Batman Begins
Sunday Feb 26th-Baseketball

I am not bullshitting, but my roommate needs a cut and high and low lights with tip under $100. She does eat Claussen pickles too if that tells you anything about her standards. This means she wants proven experience, testimonies, about your favorite gay (or even straight!) hairdresser. The last guy she went to was good but he rescheduled with her twice so she's looking for a new one. You know how girls are too. A hairdresser becomes an important figure in their life just like their psychic.
I'm gonna celebrate an Irish Valentine's Day with a bunch of romantic, love songs from my various CDs at Things Celtic. Come join me in some sappy fun.

Many of you may be familiar with Austin's long running cable access movie review show The Reel Deal. Well, last month, after 10 years on the air here in Austin, we ended our live show. But now, the new show is up and running. It is a half hour, animated movie review show starring all the same faces you might be accostomed to from our previous show.
It airs tonight (every Wednesday) at 10pm on Cable Channel 16 or you can check out previous clips at http://www.thereeldealwebsite.com/

Tune in and support an Austin original, Austin's only animated cable access show!

Hey folks, you may have heard that the KOOP building (where they broadcast KOOP community radio on 91.7) burned down this past Saturday. Again. There'd been another fire in early January, then this one, and I'm afraid the poor building is toast (pun intended).
But KOOP's gonna persevere, and as a volunteer, I figured I ought to get the word out about some fundraisers.
There's one this Friday (Feb. 10) at Beerland, featuring the Ugly Beats and the Nervous Exits, with KOOP DJs Jennifer and Scott. The show's gonna start around 10-ish, and the $5 door fee will go toward helping KOOP recover.
There's another benefit later this month at the Alamo South -- the Mr. Sinus guys are gonna get together to ridicule "Top Gun," and I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun. I'll probably post about that again later, but just as a heads-up, the show's on Thursday, Feb 23.
So mark your calendars, and try and come by!
