Booty Bootcamp

  • Jan. 29th, 2006 at 8:59 AM
I'm interested in getting back in shape and am thinking about joining this fitness program at Town Lake called Booty Boocamp: see craigslist post

Basically, It's an intensive 3-week cardio & strength training course for one hr in the early morning, 4x a week, M-TH from Jan 30-Feb 16.
The cost is $180, but you have save $25 by bringing a friend and another $25 by not missing any sessions.

So, two questions-
(1) If anyone has ever done this or anything LIKE this, please let me know what your experience was like (Did you really learn anything, Did you keep working out even after the program was over?)

(2) If anyone is interested in signing up and getting the friend discount, let me know so we can sign up together :)

Thanks!

Weight Watchers...

  • Jan. 29th, 2006 at 12:24 PM
I recently joined Weight Watchers and I've found a couple of good resources for chain restaurants, but I was wondering if anyone new of any for local restaurants. Or barring that, if local restaurants would be able to give me the nutrition facts for their menus.

Thanks!

Car Repair

I believe I need to get my fan belt replaced in my car. Where's the most affordable place to get that done tha's not in somebody's driveway? Extra points if they can do it this afternoon. Thanks!

drawing classes

  • Jan. 29th, 2006 at 3:44 PM
Hello!

I'm currently working full time (m-f days) in the north, but I'd like to take drawing and possibly jewelry making classes.

What I'm looking for the most is a good quality program, with peers and teachers that actually care about the class. I guess I just miss being in school, and the intellectual stimulation. :)

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for which programs to look at or avoid? I think there are classes at ACC, UT, Dougherty Arts Center, and AMOA. There are probably a lot more I'm not aware of, too! I put my job situation because convenience (or feasiblity) will be a factor in which classes I can take.

Thanks a ton for the help!

Does anyone know where I can find Holga (or Lomography) cameras in Austin?

And this is very random question, but does World Market sell Aero bars? I haven't had them for years!

royal rumble!

ROYAL RUMBLE day!

in celebration of the chinese new year, my comedy team wants to watch the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Anyone watching it at a bar or a home with ample sofa space for four people to help split costs? We're around Hyde Park.

Hello all!
I am looking for an exotic vet.
I have a chinchilla and I just want to get a clean bill of health before I add another one to the family.

Anyone have any suggestions?
I live in North Austin so anything in Round Rock/Cedar Park would be better for me so I don't have to make Fred suffer in the car for long distances.
Meet Fred )

Thanks in advance!

A bit of a long shot

  • Jan. 29th, 2006 at 5:57 PM
Hello again! I'm co-directing UT's production of the Vagina Monologues and I was wondering if anybody knows of a florist that would be willing to donate red carnations for the show. The show goes up February 25th, so we won't need them for a while yet.

Btw, I found the documentary I was looking for in case anybody saw that post.

Also, if anybody has red boas or white christmas lights laying around that you'd like to donate, then I would be more than happy to pick them up.

Thanks!

Long shot...

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know where I might possibly procure a Yale University sweatshirt here in Austin, or am I probably relegated to private individual or a very lucky find at a vintage store?

Just curious
