SPC has issued a large "Slight Risk" area, which includes central tx today.
Looks reasonable, although somewhat tenuous, as it remains highly conditional.
Should some of their more aggressive models verify, this morning's rain with embedded thundershowers may give way to a few very strong storms by late afternoon. Most public forecasts have been advertising an ending to the rain by about mid-day, so SPC gives something to consider if you have plans during the afternoon. In fact, it may actually help to trigger a round or two of strong to severe storms if we get some partial to full clearing once this morning's rains have concluded. May very well be a good day to take the umbrella with, just in case, even if the sky clears ;)

Anyone know what happened tonight on 620 at the Shlumberg (sp) light? the one between Verandah and Vistas at Canyon Creek? There was a helicopter there 5 after hubby and I got in line (traffic was backed up by Boulder), then after sitting for about 10-15 mins, a cop started getting people to turn around... we asked how long it would be, since our apts are shortly after that light.. he said 3 hours at least.. and I quote "crime scene investigation is coming out...."

said it would be best to find another way around.
