Seeking laboratory equipment

  • Jan. 18th, 2006 at 11:36 AM
I'm looking for the following equipment:

scale accurate to 0.1 grams (prefer digital) up to at least a kilogram, less than $40 would be nice
burette with stand
pipette
phenolpthaleine
small beakers (100-500ml)
1 or 3 liter measure cup
eyedroppers

I am looking for a chemistry supply house or something similar to pick these items up in the next couple of days. Cheaper is always better, but quality is important.

Online shopping, googling, etc. are not options.

**EDIT** I also need one of those mister things that you put on the end of a hose to spray fine mist (like outside at some bars) **EDIT**

Thanks!

Lamar and König

  • Jan. 18th, 2006 at 12:58 PM
Hey all,

If you're heading south on Lamar, there is that Emergency Services place just north of König. They have that driveway you're not allowed to block, but everyone does anyway.

Well, there's been this one motorcycle cop ticketing people all day. He's still there as of 1/2 an hour ago.

And besides, you should NEVER block those driveways. Just today you'll probably get ticketed for it.

Anyone planning on going to see RENEGADES EXTREME FIGHTING AT THE IRWIN CENTER?

If you are, you should get your tickets at Richard Lord's Boxing Gym. No stupid internet fees and shit like that.

Local custom T-shirts shop?

  • Jan. 18th, 2006 at 4:57 PM
I have an event in about 2.5 weeks where I wanted to have custom T-shirts made for it. I went to an online custom order place that was recommended to a friend by me, but they're backlogged and can't ship an order to me for another 4 weeks.

Does anyone know of a reputable and reasonably priced local shop that will do custom shirts (I have digital art files) within 2 weeks?

Scotch

Maltsters,

Willie Tait, United States Ambassador, and Master Distiller for Isle
of Jura Single Malt Scotch will be at Opal’s this Tuesday, January
24th at 2pm. He will be on hand to sample and discuss all things
malt related about the Isle of Jura distillery. You may remember the
self described "Sean Connery's stunt double" from his last visit
several months ago, he is very entertaining and knowledgeable of all
things whisky related.

Willie Tait’s involvement with the Isle of Jura brand began in 1975
when he was first hired as a “Tunroom Man” at the remote Hebridean
distillery. Mr. Tait was involved in 1975 with the introduction of
the distillery’s first Single Malt an 8-year-old expression. In 1985,
Mr. Tait was named Distillery Manager for the operation off the
western coast of Scotland. He stayed in that role until 1999 when he
was appointed Distillery Manager at Highland malt distillery
Fettercairn. His experience is widely regarded throughout the Scotch
Whisky industry.

Isle of Jura has had 10-year-old and 16-year-old expressions in the
U.S. market for some time and introduced a new expression called
Superstition in the fall of 2003.

Statute of Limitations in Texas.

  • Jan. 18th, 2006 at 6:29 PM
My dad, a resident of New York, recieved a letter from a lawyer in Amarillo stating since 1994 he has had an outstanding speeding ticket. Is there a statute of limitations here? 12 years later, does he need to worry about the ticket?

Tonight!

  • Jan. 18th, 2006 at 7:02 PM
If anyone is looking for some inexpensive fun tonight, head to "The Space" on 48th and Airport (next to I Love Video) for the last night of the "see.hear.speak." festival. Tonight is "speak" featuring 15 Virgin Stand Up Comics trying their hand in a "safe place for stand up." It may be horribly funny, surprisingly funny, or neither of those things. There will be a stand up guru on hand for commentary and free beer. $5 at the door is all those folks in ColdTowne ask for.
Come play.
Does anybody know where I can get a male stripper for an all-girl party on Friday?

If you know who I am and what this is for, don't say anything to the parties involved. You'll spoil a big surprise.

Well...maybe not that big. Depends on the stripper I guess.
