So, it turns out I will be unable to keep Cooper. Trust me, I am very saddened by this and yes, I did adopt him on a whim but I didn't want him to go to the animal shelter so soon. They'll stick him in the back in a little ole cage and "test" him in three weeks when he's of adoptable age [8weeks] and see if he's... well, "adoptable," which transpires into non aggressive and healthy.

Chances are he won't be happy or too healthy cooped up in a little cage at the shelter with little to no attention or love... I don't trust pounds and shelters. I just don't. Esp when the lady on the phone was telling me he may be "put to sleep."

So, I emailed a lot of my friends and all my list serves and maybe someone will fall in love with him and have a better home for him than I. I figure I would try here bc y'all gave me so much advice already. I have an old car that runs with a clean title, but it's got so many problems with it I couldn't really ethically sell it to somebody. For instance, it doesn't like right turns - I swear one of the wheels is going to fall off or something. The AC doesn't work, has loads of electrical problems, body damage all over the place, etc.

So, does anybody know of a junkyard that will come pick it up for like $200-300 bucks? The engine runs great (I'm sure they could pull out the engine and get at least $600 for it), it's just got other problems. We're talking about a '93 Park Avenue here.

Cooper is about five weeks old.

I hear from my friend who gave him to me, that the parents were pitt bull and or rott mixes... he's a complete mutt from the way he looks and to be honest he looks like a beagle. I know this detail about his breed may make some people weary but I've had a rott before and he was the sweetest dog ever. I'm not really concerned about the breed aside from the potential adult size... which his parents are only medium size dogs, so it's hard for me to imagine he'll get bigger than them.

He is from Georgetown, TX.

He hasn't had any shots yet. I've found a clinic though that will give him his first round of shots for $22 OR what might happen, if I don't find someone to adopt him, the SPCA will take care of his shots and put him in a foster home until he gets adopted. I have an appt with them to drop him off on Friday afternoon.

He is absolutely precious. I am completely in love with him.

PS. Bc someone asked, I cannot keep him for a number of reasons, one being that I can't take care of him. I know I'm not ready and he deserves better, someone who will pay attention to him more and be around more. Also my roommates are allergic and my parents won't let me keep him and they are paying for my living expenses... I'm sure I could sit here and think of more but the bottom line is, I won't be a good enough mom for him bc I can barely take care of myself. :'(
