weekend noise

  • Jan. 7th, 2006 at 8:04 AM
Is there a city ordinance (rule, law, etc.) that says what time construction crews can start working in a residential neighborhood on weekends?

'cuz there's guys at 8 AM outside my bedroom window loading in lumber to the empty lot next door.

Help.

Knitting/weaving books $1-2

  • Jan. 7th, 2006 at 9:34 AM
I'm valiantly trying to encourage my spousal unit to get some of his junk out of our dwelling. To that end I've weeded out extraneous books and mags from my hobby library. On Monday evening I will haul the boxes of stuff with me to my Monday knitting group. Most will be $1-2, a few might be more, and its all negotiable. I've got moderately recent mags (CastOn, Knitters), books of assorted vintage dealing with knitting and weaving, and who knows what else might turn up between now and then.

Bring some work and sit for a while!

I need to sell my CDs and DVDs

  • Jan. 7th, 2006 at 2:55 PM
so that I can make my truck payment and still have money to eat.

I'll sell them to anyone here for $5/CD and $10/DVD (or make a reasonable offer)

but other than Waterloo and Cheapo's, is there any place else I should consider selling them at?

thanks!

Item location!

I'm looking for a copy of Guitar Hero for the PS2 somewhere in town. According to friends, Fry's doesn't have it, and Game Stop only has it used, which means it doesn't come with the guitar.
Anybody have any leads? (Excuse the pun)

Buy a cheap TV and Radio

  • Jan. 7th, 2006 at 5:14 PM
I have some stuff I really really need to get rid of THIS WEEK

I’m tempted to just toss them... but I’ll give you guys a crack at it.

A 19 inch Color TV, over ten years old. It has a coax input (you can watch cable and most vcrs/dvds through it. It works quiet well.

I’ll take a whopping FIVE BUCKS for it.

A very good dual cassette ad/fm radio. I’ll also take 5 bucks for it.

Size 11 Army boots, 2 pairs, 5 bucks a pair!

Need a little help. . .

I am going to graduate from UT in May with a degree in theatre studies focusing on directing and playwrighting. I would like to stay here in Austin after I am done with school, going to grad school at some point, but not for a while. I would like to keep going in theatre as a director, but really don't know how to get started in the Austin community. I have been the artistic director for The Round About Players for the last 4 years, directing over 20 full plays, ranging from Shakespeare to Nigro to doing orignal works written by me and other members of the theatre company. Anyone who can give me any info, I would really be grateful. Thanks for the help.

Oxygen Bar?

  • Jan. 7th, 2006 at 8:09 PM
About a year ago at a 1st Thursday Party there was this "oxygen bar". You stood at a bar and hooked up to "flavored" oxygen or something. I don't know what it was supposed to do then (when you're healthy) but I've spent WAAYY too many hours in a smokefilled/fire damaged room. I feel like I need a good hour on an oxygen tank.

Does anyone know where you can do this? Or is that like a prescribed treatment?
