NuAge Cafe update

  • Mar. 9th, 2005 at 10:07 AM
My gf and I went to NuAge Cafe (24th and Exposition) for my birthday last weekend. And I wanted to let the community know that it is indeed a vegan restuarant. Even the gelatin items on the menu (link). Because there was some hub-bub before.

ps. it was a tad pricey but yum.

moving buddy.

Does anyone have a suggestion for movers or starving students who could help me move without being too pricey? Thanks.

Napster at the Speakeasy

  • Mar. 9th, 2005 at 11:19 AM
On March 17th, Napster will be at the Speakeasy pub with their "Free fill and refill" program. They will be giving out free drinks (non-alcohol I imagine, but it doesn't say) and free 90 days to a year subscriptions to their music service. All in on a first come, first serve basis and runs from 10p.m. to 4a.m. It doesn't say how many will be given out, but I thought some of y'all might like to know.

Note this catch about the subscription service:
"While iTunes allows you to purchase songs and store them on your iPod, until recently other music subscription services had limited ability to store songs on portable players. Napster's new service works with a number of PC-compatible players and is akin to renting songs versus owning them; once the subscription is canceled, the audio files will no longer play."

So be prepared to maintain the subscription if you want to keep the music. The full story is here:

Helloooooo People of Austin:

Where can I find a[n Ikea] couch like this in the area? Would hate to drive all the way to Houston, pay shipping, etc. etc.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

This one is a 3-seater listed for about $250, here. Anywhere around here sell cool, funky stuff for around the same price? My guess is no.. :P

Where in Austin can I sell clothes besides Buffalo Exchange and Leopard Lounge? I need cash and I only got $7 at Buffalo. I have pretty good clothes, they aren't old or anything, and lots of jeans. Help! Thank you in advance!

I hear there are lots of events going on tonight. here's another to add to the list.

please come by and check out dj bill bradley at lovejoy's tap room. he'll be spinning the best and rarest in funk, soul and old school hip-hop from 9PM to midnight.

lovejoy's has $2.50 house beers and a variety of other inexpensive brews/drinks. if alcohol isn't your thing, they also serve yummy coffee from texas coffee traders.

all right, let me get this out of the way quick before you guys get so sick of hearing about SXSW that you stop reading the posts as soon as you see those letters...

What is the deal with SXSW shows? Do need to have a wristband or badge or whatever to get into all of them? If i see some that i want to go to will there be any chance of me getting in just by paying at the door? I'm specifically looking at a few at the Elysium, and possibly some other places.

thanks.
I live at St. Edward's... I am tired of the crappy food they have here... and I need to watch my diet and not eat greasy food... I am hankering on some good brocoli and beef or something... any good chinese delievery place that is decently priced or any other deleivery places? Thanks.
