Is anyone here enrolled in ACC's 2D animation program? Or the Interactive Design course? Just wondering about the quality of the program, any thoughts are appreciated.

Fox News

I heard last night on the fox 7 news that there is some kind of petition going on about not letting Ashlee Simpson perform. I was hoping someone had some more info on this. I would like to sign that petition. Thanks in advance.

I'd like to get a female impersonator to dress up as marilyn monroe and sing happy birthday to my friend at the end of February. They have to have a singing voice like Marilyn. Any reccommendations for this sort of thing or ideas on how much it would cost?

PS - they don't have to be professional. Depending on who you are this could be less painful than donating plasma ;)

bagels & other cheap food

  • Jan. 19th, 2005 at 3:31 PM
for those of you have spent time in houston:
there's a hole in the wall place at shepherd and fairview called the hot bagel shop. it sells fresh bagels, bagel sandwiches, and coffee that is really cheap and really delicious. for more info about the hot bagel shop in houston click here.

anyway, is there an austin equivalent to the hot bagel shop? i really miss it, and einstein's isn't the same.

also, what are the absolutely cheapest (but still good) restaurants that you frequent? any style of food.

I was riding the bus today back from UT, and I noticed that Metro has a new PA system. They put a woman's voice now, and she says Guadelupe rather than Guadeloop.

I like the change. I hope she says Burnet instead of Burn it, but I haven't ridden that bus yet.

Has anyone else noticed the new bus voice?

I have friends in Berlin who say that the Ubahn voice is the sexiest voice in Germany. What do you think of the new Cap Metro voice?

I'm so screwed...

  • Jan. 19th, 2005 at 5:14 PM
Long story short, I injured myself while on vacation in Arizona. I now have $53k of medical bills. Blue Cross/Blue Shield texas used to insure my via cobra, but that expired (and they took 2.5 months to get around to telling me it expired). So now I'm looking at having to pay all this off on my own.

I did talk to family services in Arizona, and since I'm not a resident there's nothing I can do. I'm wondering if there's anything equivalent for us Texans?

Hey- I haven't kept up with this community or the UT one, so I'm sure this has been asked before, but I have no clue where to look.. I want to go dancing with my friends- not necessarily downtown, the location doesn't really matter, but I CANNOT find a place that meets these qualifications:
*18 and up (NOT 21)
*not ghetto.. (this may not be PC, but for lack of a better word)
*plays hip hop or disco or just anything fun to dance to
*is open on Thursday nights

I'm sure there are SOME hidden gems here in Austin that I just can't find. I looked all over Citysearch but found nothin'.. Help!
