curious to know if anyone has info on a good roofing company for homes, and any clue about how much it would cost for a 950sq ft home (the price for both composite shingle and metal).

I hate to ask, but if anyone knows of any decent job openings in Austin, San Marcos, or anywhere in that general area I would love to hear about them. My wife's position ended on December 31st (along with everyone else in that division). She is in need of work asap!

She has a degree in Business with an emphasis in management, has customer service and some managerial type experience. A position like office manager would be ideal.

We are hoping for a minimum of 13$ an hour.

If you know of any leads at all, placement agencies that might be a good fit, please reply asap.

Could anyone recommend a good, inexpensive, wedding photographer? I have heard that you can usually find UT photography students who will work for cheap, but I would like someone with some wedding experience as well. Any ideas will be welcomed. And, if you do know anything about hiring student photographers, any information on where to find them would be great!

I have a question that maybe someone here could answer. My laptop computer at home is having MAJOR problems (it has Microsoft ME on it, ack!), and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a local repair shop that's REALLY trustworthy. (and inexpensive).

The problem is that the screen goes black, even though it is still booting up (i can hear it), but my REAL concern is that I'm a writer and I have TONS of writing on this computer that must be saved before I lose my mind. Some of it is saved to many zip drives and in hard copy form, but lots of the recent stuff isnt! :) If you know of someone/a company that could do this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I really like the guys and gals over at Thundercloud on Lavaca They never cease to amuse me. Today's topic? Hobbits. And Elves. Yes, I still think Elijah Wood has some scary ass eyes, ok? I'm terrified to go see the third movie on the big screen because of it. (And also because the theatres don't use the right bulb and it affects the picture.)
One of the guys told me he'd poke someone's Elijah-like eyes out for 20 bucks. That's fricken awesome.

roommate needed ASAP

looking for a third roommate for our 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in central austin. rent is $300 monthly, plus electric. of course there is the inevitable credit check. you will have not have to share the bathroom. the complex is located between congress and IH-35 right across the congress bridge from downtown.

there are currently two guys living here, and we don't care what gender you identify yourself as....just that you are laid back. NO pets (sorry...it's in our contract, and one of us is allergic). if you smoke tobacco, it has to be done outside.

we are extremely laid back, left-leaning in the political department, both creative, one hairy the other not. we're both inclined to poo jokes, metrosexual jokes, and soccer. just for the record, neither of us are metrosexual. not that we care...if you are it's totally cool. i mean...dress as well as you want to...really.

like i said...we need someone ASAP.
