I don't know if anyone cares about this kind of thing, but as of Wednesday
night, Wal-Mart at 290 & Mopac had this very pictured gizmo at a closeout
price of nine dollars. I suspect other local Wal-Marts may offer the same
deal. I have been playing with mine for a day and can recommend it. As of
Wednesday, they have no shortage of them in the electronics dept, and I will
very likely return to get a couple more for friends. It is a genuine Dick Tracy style two-way wrist communicator, practical enough to carry everyday.
It is a FRS/GMRS radio mounted on a less-bulky-than-you-might-think wristwatch. It comes with its own lithium-ion battery pack, a charger and has a practical range in the three-quarters to one mile range. Despite its size and dinky antenna. the range is roughly the same as other such radios with which I have tinkered. It only has one paging sound, and no "co-channels", but it will bandscan the FRS and GMRS frequencies. I really like the FRS, and especially like this particularly practical unit.
Go get one, or a few at this price. I am constantly amazed at how many uses you can come up with these radios once they enter your life. Remember, Ch. 1 is the emergency channel, although I do not yet know of anyone in the Austin area who actually monitors this, as the REACT group monitors CB channel 9.
I have an informal proposal, which I hope to hash out soon, establishing Ch. 13 of the FRS as a (I'll have to come up with a better name for this) Freak Chat channel. Imagine heading down to your favorite event or "downtown" and wanting to look for like souls ... just pop on Ch. 13 and see who's around ... within a mile anyway. Anybody else who would like to run with the idea, go right ahead. I'm a bit of a procrastinator.
Just thought this info is worth sharing.
I'm no WM fan, BTW, but I find myself giving folks a lift there, and sometimes find a little gold.

Reality shows have just gone too fucking far.
So it's been decided I need to get off my ass and move it around in an aerobic fashion.
Anyone care to recommend a gym? I'd be grateful.

I'm looking for a female doctor (General Practice), preferably in Central Austin (North of the river & South of Anderson). It's ok if they're not within that area, but that's closer to where I live. I keep looking at my insurance provider's web site, and there are plenty to choose from, but I'd prefer a recommendation. I've gone to two others without any kind of recommendation and haven't really liked them. So, if you have a female doctor that you really like, please let me know.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
Where can I go shopping for some really comfortable, fashionable clothes at reasonable prices? I'm tired of going to the malls and I am not sure where to look for good bargain clothing. A lot of places I've been to are SO expensive! I'm not looking for clothes that are really outrageous, but decent, comfortable and cheap. Thanks.
