House for rent, short-term OK

  • Feb. 2nd, 2003 at 4:07 PM
The house next door to me is up for rent, and seeing as it's right by my room, I'd like to help make sure that someone compatible moves in. :)
It's in north central, close to Burnet and North Loop. 3/2, W/D included, hardwood floors, 2-car carport. There's another house in the back, so no real yard to speak of. Lots of new stuff has been done to it recently, so it should be in really good shape. Quiet, safe neighborhood.
And I'd like to keep it that way. :)
Normally the house is $1200/month, but 1) times is hard, and 2) he normally rents the house out in July to UT students. He's willing to give a pretty substantial discount to someone who wants to rent it until July, and then you can either go or renegotiate. He was telling me $1000, but you could probably get it down a little more than that, as I've seen the rent sign up for maybe 2 months, and he just did a bunch of work on it. But don't tell him I said that. :)

His name is Doug, and his number is 450-0230.

storage unit recommendations

  • Feb. 2nd, 2003 at 11:43 PM
i'm going to be looking for a place to store an apartment's worth of furniture this week...and it seems like a bazillion storage places have sprung up around town over the past couple years...

...so, does anyone have any recommendations, experiences (good/bad), etc?
