It seems we are picking back up in RPing and bringint AV back to life, which is a beautiful thing!
There are just a few issues that aren't necessarily current but have been in the recent past. A lot of them have been addressed but we want to emphasize these important points that are also part of the rules so please, read on:
1) When you auditioned for the RP, we hoped that you paid attention to the posting rules. We understand the posting rules have somewhat changed but if it reaches a point where you can't live up to them, we expect you to know your own limits and evaluate what you are able to handle. The mods are here to help but we're all adults here and so please don't expect hand holding and prodding to get you to post. RPing is supposed to be fun, something you ENJOY doing, and by not posting within the allotted amount of time, you're kind of hindering others from enjoying themselves.
2.) There is a limit to how many characters a player can play, but much like posting, you need to understand yourself on how many characters you can handle. Some characters are "taken" and yet don't see much activity; this can't be allowed because it's not fair for possible new players to come in and give these characters the attention they need. Again, the mods can't continue to prod a character that the RPer chose to take on.... there should be a reason you chose the characters to take on. (The only execption to this is our 'B' cast list. Which currently only holds Amy and Lilah Morgan.)
3.) With characters come the plots that go along with it. You all have brilliant ideas, and yes, sometimes it takes awhile for a thread to flow all the way through - but DON'T GIVE UP ON A PLOT. Follow through with it - it builds characterization more, character interaction, and gives the characters a nice challenge. Talk with each other if you're stuck on how a plot should end up. That's why we wanted all players to provide contact information.
4.) ... and speaking of, the OOC community is out there for you guys. If you don't want to use the emails, then by all means, use the OOC Board. That's why it's important everyone also checks the OOC board often. In fact, sometimes it's best to check the OOC board before posting in the thread, in case there is something a fellow RPer might be communicating with you.
5) Once again we're noticing that some of our players, who owe tags in this game, tag up a storm in other games. Lets repeat what's been said before about this.
This sort of behavior is not okay. Not only are you holding up the game, and your fellow players. It's also respectles and extremely rude toward your fellow players and this game. Please, stop doing this, or we're going to have to do something about it and neither of us wants that.
6.) And lastly, and most importantly, please in some form or fashion let everyone (or anyone) know you might be away for a length of time. It doesn't have to be on the OOC board - if you want, just email the mod and they will communicate it out to the OOC board. Real life happens, no question about that, but it's just good, old fashion courtesy to let someone know when you will be away, if possible.
