Welcome to Atlantis Face Off, the very first icon challenge community dedicated to the show Stargate Atlantis.
What is 'Stargate Atlantis?'
Stargate Atlantis is the spinoff series of the very popular show, Stargate SG1 that began its run in the August 2004. After the defeat of Anubis (season 7), the United Nations sent out an expedition through the Stargate, led by Dr. Elizabeth Weir. Her main team is: Major/Lt. Colonel John Sheppard, Dr. Rodney McKay, Teyla Emmagan, Dr. Carson Beckett, Lt. Aiden Ford, and her season two additions: Colonel Steven Cadwell and Ronnon. The adventure and fight against the deadly Pegasus Galaxy enemy, the Wraith, continues on.<
Season III icons?!
Season III icons are allowed. However if they give spoilers to the episode's plot, then they must behind a LJ-cut. Promotional Photos are not spoilers.
Submitting Challenge Prompts?
We allow our citizens to post their ideas for challenge prompts from lyrical to themes. They may not always be used, but they are certainly concidered. Go here for more information.

++ RULES OF CONDUCT |
Challenge Days: Challenges are given out on either Fridays or Mondays, depending on when we have the time. You are given until the next Friday to turn in your enteries (unless otherwise stated). The Challenge closes at 12AM EST time and voting begins when voting is posted after that mark.
1) Respect fellow Citizens. Atlantis doesn't allow bickering or picking on any other Citizens, especially when it comes to pairings (het vs slash). Your first offense is suspension from any challenges. Your second challenge is a temporary band. Time will be decided by the moderators. Your final offense is removal from Atlantis.
2) Citizens are to follow the rules given at the Challenge. You are allowed to enter two icons. If you do not abide by the rules of the posted challenge then your icon(s) will not be counted in the voting. This includes getting your submission in on-time.
3) Atlantis has a variaty of challenges. Ranging from lyrics, to screencaptures, themes, wallpapers, and much more. If you have an idea for a challenge you may submit a challenge, but you must join Atlantis first.
4) Only post your final product. If you feel as if you need to adjust or edit the entry, then delete the previous entry and post a new one.
5) Do not post your submission in other challenges or your journal until the challenge has ended.
6) You may use images from the new season(s). However due to people who are behind or have not yet seen the episodes, you are required to place the submission(s) under a lj-cut. Your icon will be part of the normal voting.

Your icons must fit within the LiveJournal standards. 100x100 and no larger than 40KB. As stated before you are allowed to enter two icons.

Normal Awards - First, Second, Third
Most Creative, Best Represenative - Chosen by the Citizens. The most submission icon of the challenge, and the submission that best represents the challenge.
Puddle Jumper, McKay Award - The Puddle Jumper is Moderators Choice, where the moderators get together and decide which submission they enjoy the most. The McKay Award is given to the funniest submission of that challenge. This award is not always given.
