dermatologist recs?
I know, I know, I'm quite sure it's been asked here before; hasn't everything? If we used tags I could just search them first and maybe you wouldn't be reading this. But you are! So while you're already here....
I'm looking for a dermatologist. I'm in Smyrna; closer is always better because I hate driving, but I am flexible to a certain extent. Bonus points if you happen to know if they take BCBS.
I prefer female docs, because it has been my experience that they are more patient and compassionate and don't mind actually listening to their patients for a minute or two. I really hate it when you try to explain issues to a doc and you can just see they aren't listening at all but are waiting for you to finish so they can tell you what they think. Because obviously you don't know jack shit about your body if you don't have a medical degree, and they're charging you enough that apparently they don't even have to pretend to respect what you say based on living in the damn thing 24/7. But I digress!
If you know of a male doc that fits my bedside manner requirements feel free to suggest; it's not really about male vs female so much as it is finding someone who doesn't make me feel like a hunk of meat on a conveyor belt passing by for my "inspected" stamp. My husband and I are self-employed and shell out over $1000/mo for the privilege of having health insurance. When I see a doc I like to feel like I'm getting my damn money's worth!
Hmm... I'm gonna see if I can tag this... I know some comms only allow maintainers to create tags, but let's test this theory. ETA: Apparently, no. Tried to give it "recommendations, medical" but it's not showing up for me, so I guess only the mods can add tags. I'd ask for some, but I'm guessing no one would use them anyway! ;)
