weather damage
Seems two of the buildings i work in on a regular basis. Have been damaged by a tornado that touched down downtown. The GA Dome has had a hole ripped in the roof. And so far unspecified damages to Philips arena.

Also the news is reporting several billboards have been blown down.

The reporter I heard talked about siding ripped off the Philips Arena parking deck and lots of blown-out windows at the Omni Hotel. CNN.com reports shattered glass and water pouring into the atrium at CNN Center. Damage reported to Centennial Park, the Westin Peachtree, and Grady. Debris all over the place down there. Big, big mess.

The only good news is, so far, only minor injuries.

I don't think it was that strong of a tornado; it just touched down in a place where many buildings were present. (Yes, I heard it, and I can hear all the sirens now.)

Fox 5 (I think) had a person on the phone claiming that the Phillips parking deck was half gone. Any truth to that? I haven't heard anything else on it.

I cut over to watch the game on...Fox Sports Florida, I think. they were showing shots of the damage outside: light poles knocked over, guardrails blown off, large strips of siding off the Dome. There was a rip in the room and maybe in the side panel of the Dome. The worst they showed were some windows blown out at GWCC and a water main severed, so there was water cascading down stairwells and the like.

I'm in Vegas watching the news footage on TV, and damn - that's some seriously scary damage. The reporter did a close-up of the debris on the street, and there's tons of shattered glass. Twisted metal everywhere.

Hope everyone is safe...

I just spent over an hour walking around. Things are THRASHED. That whole billboard at Marietta & Spring is totalled... except the Jumbotron and the clock. Stuff is knocked down, shredded, shattered.
