Stuff to Do..
I'm visiting Atlanta this weekend.. looking for things to do Fri and Sat night.

Mostly interested in outdoorsy activities-- I'm coming from the cold north, I'd like to enjoy the relative heat!

Are there any nature preserves with trails or anything?

Thanks!

Well, it's a bit late for Saturday, but one underutilized nature-trail area is Sweetwater Creek State Park in Douglas County. It is about 25 minutes from downtown Atlanta. Take I-20 to the Camp Creek Parkway/Thornton Rd exit (#44, I believe), go south to the first stoplight after the interstate which I *think* is Blairs Mill Rd but don't hold me to that -- there are auto dealerships on the right, Walmart center on the left. Take a right at that light, and stay on the road a mile or two until it hits Mt Vernon, then turn left. A mile or so south and the state park entrances are to your left.

You could enjoy the Atlanta Botanical Gardens - open from 9-5pm.
And right next to that is Piedmont Park. A nice little stroll.
