I've never voted in a primary before. I'm considering it. I know I'm set for November. Do I have to register to vote in the primary? Did I miss my chance, or what?

	not in georgia. you just show up and say "i'd like to vote in the democrat/republican primary, please." although you can't do both. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I don't know if you like political history (specifically GA) or not, but the open primary system was used against Cynthia McKinney in the 2002 Congressional primary. Thousands of Republicans crossed party lines to vote for Denise Majette. Not illegal by any means, but definitely an interesting tidbit. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I'm not sure how most people register to vote here, but the lady at the DMV didn't ask me if I wanted to register with a party. I also never received a voter registration card, but checking on the internet shows I am indeed registered and tells me my polling place. Odd. (Reply to this)(Parent)
