Fun times in Doraville

So about six months ago. Garbage service started getting real hit or miss. Multiple weeks would go by without the garbage being picked up. After one particularly bad run. They skipped us five times over a three month period. I had, had enough. I went down to city hall to complain. The person i spoke with said the garbage trucks have a difficult time making it around the circle with cars parked on the circle. I asked why this is a problem now, Has not been one in the past. Also asked why the trucks cant just back down the street or back up it. As its only got nine houses on the court total. The school bus does it twice a day. Why cant the garbage truck once a week. They just shrugged. I said ok. When i got home i told my roommate what the cities excuse was. Who has owned a house on this court for seven years. He was like thats BS. The garbage trucks have had no problems for the last seven years. The city has been using a new garbage company. Their just lazy IMHO.

So this afternoon i go out to my car. To see one of those large orange warning stickers on my car. I look around my car is not the only one. I think to myself, here is the city telling us to not park on the street on garbage day anymore. As i get closer i notice a piece of paper under my windshield wiper that looks a lot like a ticket. As i pull it out it is a ticket. For illegally parking.

No signs on the street at all (believe me i'll be taking lots of pictures) No warnings no nothing other than the one day i spoke with the city. I can kind of understand if i were the only one. As i had spoken to the city before. However i know my neighbors have not. and they got tickets too. In fact my ticket says "blocking the roadway warned several times, garbage truck unable to get down street" Which is all bullshit as our garbage was picked up today. Anyway i looked at my neighbors ticket theirs says "blocking the roadway, garbage truck unable to get down street" Notice warned several times is missing yet they received a ticket as well. So even if their was or was not a warning. It does not matter you are going to get a ticket anyway.

I'll be fighting this tooth and nail.

Two male actors needed

Hello. My name is Sara Crawford. (Last year, I produced Painted, a play that I wrote, through the KSU Underground Theatre and Film Movement, a group dedicated to putting student-written works on the stage and screen.) I have recently written a new play called Just Listen. It's a musical, of sorts. It's really an acoustic musical. Set in a coffee shop, there is an acoustic musician who plays songs throughout the show, and some of the characters join in and sing with her.

I'm doing a staged reading at Kennesaw State University through the KSU Underground Theatre and Film Movement on April 18. Rehearsals will start on March 15 and they will only be on Saturdays throughout March. Rehearsals are going to be very laid back as it is a staged reading, and the purpose for rehearsals, mainly, is to teach everyone the songs. Rehearsals will also be at KSU.

I need two male actors. One is the lead role, who sings several songs "solo" or with the singer. He should look to be in his 20s. The other is a "chorus" member who will read 3 or 4 small male parts. If that person wants to be a part of the "chorus" and sing in the two songs that the chorus sings in, he can, but he doesn't have to sing if he doesn't want to. The age is more flexible for that person.

If you are interested or know someone who might be, please e-mail me at scrawford85@gmail.com.
