I lived between Austin and Alta Avenues, just past Little 5 Points, and just on the edge of Inman Park, from 1982 to 1987, but I'm in southeast Marietta now, and rarely have cause to be in that neighborhood anymore. Sometimes I miss it and I pay a visit, as I did on Saturday, and as I drove through Inman Park to gawk at the beautiful old Victorian homes, and found myself going toward downtown on Highland Ave, I was shocked to see blocks of buildings that appear to be condos or apartments, or lofts, or something, all the way up to the old Highland Bakery loft space. I once knew an artist who had space there, and there was nothing nearby but empty lots. Clearly I've not strayed from the confines of Freedom Parkway in my most recent visits to L5P and beyond, in years!
What is this new housing called? Is this an actual neighborhood? What is it called? Would it be "Highland"? Or is it part of Inman Park? I'm curious to know what it's being called, mainly for real estate purposes, as I'm interested in seeing some of these living spaces, or at least finding out how much they are. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
