I got my Macintosh examined at the Mac store in Orlando, Florida. The technician did an excellent job of diagnosing the iBook's issue (busted hinge on the case), and gave me a list of the exact parts that needed changing, and an ok price on the repairs -- 220.00.
But I live locally. Therefore, I had this woman print out EXACTLY what she'd diagnosed so that I could take my computer and the list of parts and the quote to the Atlanta Mac store at Lennox mall. She said that they'd be able to take her information and use it to fix my computer.
...Not the case. The man at the Lennox Mac store looked at the woman's price quote, and then glanced in a cursory manner at my computer, and said:
"It's a 'tier 2 fix' -- you'll need to pay closer to 500.00 for the repair. More might be wrong with it than just these parts."
"But," I said, "I've been using it for nearly a year with this broken hinge. And everything else works fine."
But the technician ignored me, and ignored the first quote entirely, and wouldn't even listen when I asked if he wanted me to turn it on and show him -- simply held his line that the first quote was wrong.

WTF, Lennox Macintosh store?
Needless to say, I was incredibly pissed off.
I'm simply going to ship my Mac back to the Orlando store, where the service was much, much better.
