This is the first time that I'm posting an upset rant about customer service.

I got my Macintosh examined at the Mac store in Orlando, Florida. The technician did an excellent job of diagnosing the iBook's issue (busted hinge on the case), and gave me a list of the exact parts that needed changing, and an ok price on the repairs -- 220.00.

But I live locally. Therefore, I had this woman print out EXACTLY what she'd diagnosed so that I could take my computer and the list of parts and the quote to the Atlanta Mac store at Lennox mall. She said that they'd be able to take her information and use it to fix my computer.

...Not the case. The man at the Lennox Mac store looked at the woman's price quote, and then glanced in a cursory manner at my computer, and said:

"It's a 'tier 2 fix' -- you'll need to pay closer to 500.00 for the repair. More might be wrong with it than just these parts."

"But," I said, "I've been using it for nearly a year with this broken hinge. And everything else works fine."

But the technician ignored me, and ignored the first quote entirely, and wouldn't even listen when I asked if he wanted me to turn it on and show him -- simply held his line that the first quote was wrong.

WTF, Lennox Macintosh store?

Needless to say, I was incredibly pissed off.

I'm simply going to ship my Mac back to the Orlando store, where the service was much, much better.

Since [info]bellwitch seems to have evaporated, can anyone tell me good places on MARTA to get a reasonably priced women's haircut? My bob is kind of unusual: it's long in the front and really short in the back, and I doubt Supercuts can manage that. She defined the thing so all I need is a few inches off to keep it.

Little Help Please...

I'm a photographer and am in need of some fabric for backdrops, plus I'm a bit of a budget so I'm looking for some fabric wholesale places that might sell large swaths of colour cloth for cheap. I've looked around at some places such as Hancock Fabric and the like but they usually have much of their fabric out of my price range, like $18.00 per yard. Since I need around 2 sections 3-4 yards long, that can get a bit pricey. I was wondering if anyone might know of a good place to get some cheap? Much thanks, Cheers.

As a follow-up to this post, I'd like you all to know that I'm taking your advice.

I'm sitting in the Perimeter Mall foodcourt waiting for my appointment with the Mac store -- and if they don't tell me that they can fulfill the work order, I'll try my best to insist upon a manager.

(I'm shy about stuff like that. So this is going to suck. But I'll try my best.)

1988 Mazda 323 in need of a new owner

I am having to sell my car because of financial problems I have run into the last few weeks, so I think that who ever buys it is getting a good deal.I am having to sell my car because of financial problems I have run into the last few weeks, so I think that who ever buys it is getting a good deal. It only has 78661 miles on it at last check (did it this morning while taking the pictures), and it runs pretty well. Over the last few months I have had replaced on the car the CV joints, muffler, catalytic converter, fuel pump, a tune up and had the oil changed. The car does have a few problems though, even with all these repairs, I keep the car with at least a half tank of fuel because it does not run as well if I don’t, but this is pretty minor as long as long as the tank is half full. Periodically I have to add some oil to the car, so I always keep a quart in the back. I am asking $500 or best offer for it. If you are interested, please call me at 404-368-1010 and we can set up a meeting time.

Online marketplaces?

Does anyone out there have any opinions/advice regarding selling items (mostly VHS and CDs) on sites like Half, Amazon, or eBay? I figured I'd try this in lieu of going to someplace like Book Nook, but I didn't know if there was a site that's better than the rest.

Thank you!

Sorry to post twice to this community in one day, but I am currently in search of someplace MARTA accessible to get ballerina pink tights. They don't have to be the ballet kind but they do have to be light pink: I might consider paying extra for the ballet kind because they're more durable though.

ETA: difference between theatrical pink & ballet pink? I was considering ordering off the internet but I'm not sure which color I need. I would suspect theatrical pink is darker -- supposed to look like ballet pink under stage lights? But maybe that's wrong?

Also, is there anyone who does makeup for special events for cheaper than the counters at the mall (which usually require a purchase of $50)?

Thanks in advance.

Cheap vet

It looks like my car ETA: cat has fleas. In the past, Frontline has worked well for her, but that was years ago, so I need to start from scratch with a new vet. As luck would have it, I'm "between jobs," so even though I'm fortunate to have plenty of time to take my kitty to a doc, I'm short on funds. Can anyone recommend a low-cost veterinary option?

cell phone services

Which cell phone service provider has better coverage/signal strength: T-Mobile or Verizon? I'm on Cingular now and my calls either drop all the time or I can't get any signal. I went to a store to have my phone looked at; they changed out my SIM card which was apparently an older version, but it didn't help. I'm not sure if it's the phone or the company itself, and I don't want to sign a two-year contract just to get a new phone and find out the reception still sucks. Thanks in advance!
