SouthEast LeatherFest Raises The Bar In 2007!

SouthEast LeatherFest (SELF), now in its 12th year, is offering fresh, new twists, so join us on June 8-10, 2007 in Atlanta for a weekend of fun.

For the first year ever, we’re going to have on site play parties on both Friday and Saturday nights, so come shake it up and rattle some cages in our magnificent new dungeon.

We’re presenting 40 classes this year, almost double the number offered in 2006. You’ll see nationally known presenters who haven’t visited Atlanta previously, as well as some of your M/s favorites. We’re also highlighting the voices of the next generation of M/s and D/s in 2007. Their skill, expertise and unique perspective is going to blow you away, so don’t miss them!

In addition, we’re instituting a new program this year: SELF Mini Grants. SELF has supported our national communities/charities for years, and they in turn have supported SELF generously. This year, we want to recognize the strong Southeast communities that have been our backbone. Find out how your group, club or organization may apply for a SELF Mini Grant today. The first presentation of this new program will be held during the Saturday evening festivities

Want more details? See our newly-renovated Web site (www.seleatherfest.com), which launches today, for a full list of this year’s classes and presenters, and find out more about what we’re doing to raise the bar in 2007!

Please crosspost profusely

Happy New Year!

Time to make those New Year's Resolutions!

Is getting healthier on that list? Consider joining walkingatlanta.

This is a group that meets at least once a week (there are a couple of offshoot groups that meet more frequently) on a weekend day to walk for fitness and fun, at different parks and recreational areas around Atlanta.

walkingatlanta was formed back in April of 2006 by yours truly, and I’m hoping to increase membership this year! I know I can’t possibly be the only one looking to make some healthy lifestyle changes in 2007--come join us!

I'm intent on making sure this group meets at least once a week every week in 2007. No, really. Bring your friends! :)

Please visit walkingatlanta for information regarding the weekly walks. Introduce yourself and let me know where you’d like to walk!

Hope to see you there!
Christine

Happy New Year

I have the following items that I would very much like to get out of my garage...

I haven't listed prices, because they're highly negotiable on most things. Make me a resonable offer, and we can talk.

1 19" computer monitor

1 antique Sunbeam Mixer (includes bowls, beaters, and juicer) - cord could stand to be repaired, but it works well.

1 1400 watt Panasonic Microwave (pic behind cut) - 24" Long x 18" Deep - works perfectly. Used 4 years. It has the inverter defrost system.

1 mahogany (not sure if solid or just stained?) coffee table (see pics)

1 Toshiba 2-disc DVD player sand remote

2 matching Eames era (retro) tables (will post pics behind cut)

1 20 gallon long fish tanks w/ screen top (pic behind cut)

1 additional screen top

1 wrought iron 20 gallon long stand (also fits 29 and 37H tanks)

1 pine 20 gallon long aquarium stand and canopy (pics behind cut)

2 20 gallon long strip lights

1 20 gallon long double bulb flourescent strip light

1 20 gallon high hood (fits 20H or half a 55)

2 10 gallon critter cages with screen tops (one screen top is a bit damaged)

1 10 gallon wrought iron stand

Email me at peyton at peytonsmind dot com if interested. Prices are negotiable.

Foodies, Activate!

After reading this great slate article on salt, I decided I must try fleur de sel on my very next steak. Turns out this is easier said than done! Places I've looked and found wanting: Happy Herman's, Alon's Bakery, Kroger, Sevenanda.

Question: Where are the good gourmet food stores in Atlanta?

and Happy New Year!!!

furniture removal

I'm moving and need to have a couch hauled off.  It's not good enough for freecycle or charity.  Who should I call?

Georgia Progressive Summit, Jan. 5 - 7

http://www.gps2006.org/index.cfm

WHO ARE WE? We are a dynamic group of progressive Georgians – individuals and organizational representatives, reflecting a wide variety of backgrounds, experience and expertise – learning, planning and mobilizing toward a better future for our state.

WHAT IS THE GEORGIA PROGRESSIVE SUMMIT? A total of 26 organizations helped make possible the first annual Georgia Progressive Summit 2006 held last January. Approximately 160 people came together and participated in a full schedule of interactive workshops, plenary sessions and action planning. Details are available in our GPS Archives.

WHAT WE'RE DOING! For GPS 2007, we are incorporating additional organizations to expand and diversify our program and participation. The list of participating organizations is growing and we are in the process of finalizing our schedule. If you participated in GPS 2006, please plan to join us again in January 2007 for our second annual summit. If you are new to the Georgia Progressive Summit, sign up now!

Most events are at the Cole Research Center at Clark-Atlanta University
