Hey you guys. I have a question, and I don't know how much good it'll do me to post it here, but you're all nice enough and I figure it was worth a shot.

I work at a bank in Buford. I got a call on Tuesday afternoon from Home Depot saying that my purse had been turned in and I could come pick it up at anytime, just to bring some form of ID with me. It was really odd, because the purse I'm currently using was up under my desk at the time. I told them I wasn't missing a purse. They described the purse to me, and said that there was a pay stub from my bank addressed to me in it and that's why they were calling. I recognized the purse from the discription, but I hadn't used it in months. I told them I'd be by to pick it up after work, and asked them how they found it. They said a gentleman bought a load of wood, and as he was loading the wood in the back of the truck he saw the purse. He'd never seen it before, didn't know who's it was and turned it in to customer service. They called me.

When I got off of work at 5:00, I walked out to my car. I park in the employee parking lot, facing a main road. The area is very busy. And I had just clocked in from lunch at 1:43, so this had to happen between that time and before I got off work at 5:00 - IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

I sat down in my car, stuck the key in the ignition, and thought that the last place I saw that purse was tucked up under my back seat. I didn't use it anymore. It was filled with a few reciepts, trash, chapstick. Little stuff. I looked in the back seat, and sure enough my back passenger window was busted out. I then turned back around to the front and realized my stereo was missing. I drive a hunk of junk - a 95 Saturn. But the stereo in my car was very nice. A Sony. I paid $400 some odd dollars for a it a few years ago.

I called 911, and they absolutely REFUSED to send an officer out. They said there was nothing they would do in person that couldn't be done over the phone. I told them I was a 21 year old girl, I didn't feel comfortable getting in the car. That I realized it was unlikely, but they could've done something to my car to make it unsafe to drive, and I would really like for them to send someone out. Again, they said they were not sending anyone out, and that they would have to call me back to file the police report. I went inside, had my boss take pictures with the digital camera, and went to Home Depot to pick up my purse.

I got the purse from customer service and it was way heavy for having just trash and chapstick in it. So I opened it up, and all my cd's - that I just assumed were stolen - were in the bag. They had been scattered all over my car, and they picked them up and put them in the bag. Tucked in between two of the cd's was a filthy - dirty, ripped, stained - envelope addressed to a certain gentleman. I opened it up, and inside was a hand written time sheet with his name and that he worked 40hours at $9.00 an hour. It was all in spanish, and there was no company name.

I called the police back, told them about what was in the purse, and they said to call them back if I came across any pertinant information! I told them that if this person was foolish enough to leave the timesheet in my purse, I was pretty sure they didn't take the time to wipe their fingerprints off of the cd cases. They told me that they would not fingerprint anything, it as a waste of time. They told me that they had no way to prove that that person wasn't just another victem rather than the theif, and if I had any concrete evidence to feel free to call them back.

I AM PISSED. I'm a tax paying citizen, and this is all I get? I feel like they should do something more. It's bad enough that I don't have full coverage. I'm going to have to pay out of pocket to get my window fixed, and not to mention the money I lost on that stereo system. The bank I work hasn't shown any interest at all, and I've even directly asked them if they would pay for at least the window since it happened on their property, during business hours, and I had no choice but to park there. To which I was told, "We'll see." No one has yet to contact me or anything.

Is there anything else I can do? I feel like this isn't getting the attention it deserves. I'm very very upset, and am looking for any help I can get.

Thank you so much!

I hope this is okay to post!

I recently moved from Atlanta (I'm in Conyers now) and am about to move back into the Atlanta area. I could use some new friends. So, if anyone would like to add me to their friends list or volunteer some good places to hang out and meet people I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Can anybody please help?

Hello everybody.

Would anybody with a pick-up truck like to make some spare cash?

My name is Jonathan, and I'm an 18-year-old student, currently in Suwanee. (Near the intersection of Old Peachtree and Lawerenceville-Suwanee.)

Basically, I'm in a panic mode. I was on the brink of being homeless, but was luckly able to find an apartment at the last moment in the Reynoldtown area in my price range.

My big problem?

I have two days to get my stuff out of here, and I don't drive.

If anybody is willing to move my small amount of stuff, (a double matress and box, a dresser, desk, and a wing back chair that belonged to my mother, along with a few boxes and bags.) I'd be willing to pay gas money and whatever other amount that would seem fair.

If you're interested, please send me an e-mail at gemsmith777@gmail.com, or leave me a comment, so we can talk.

Peace and Blessings,
Jonathan

Trompe l'oiel/mural painter...

We're interested in having the ceiling in the room we plan to convert into a playroom for our daughter painted with a trompe l'oiel sky. We know of someone who had it done at their home, but they spent $4000 on it. They also have copious amounts of money to burn, and we do not.

Does anyone know of any artists (professional or otherwise) who would be able to do something like this for a reasonable price?
