26th-Jul-2008 06:47 pm - Knitting and sewing
Yes I know I have 4 projects that still need to be finished . You read that right 4 ... But the new issue of knitty has a few patterns I wouldn't mind adding to my pile.

First
http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer08/PATTseatangles.html I want this. I want this so much it's kinda sad. Granted i'd probably never wear it, but it's like the perfect fairy tale sweater.

second
http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer08/PATTtankgirl.html Oo a cute tank top

third
http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer08/KSPATTeloping.html I'd turn it into a cuff not a garter.

Also durham Tech has a sewing class . It's 59$ and is couple hours every tuesday for I want say five weeks. I'm going to sign up for it. Why? It's be nice to really know what stitch length for what..needle size and just to have some general knowledge . Any one in Durham want to do it with me ? One of these days I will make my own corset.
26th-Jul-2008 03:51 pm - meh
I haz no job.
~_~
I'm really not sure what I want to do right now...
You see, I spent five years and thousands upon thousands of dollars to become a biologist. And here I am. Though... I'm not sure I really want to be a biologist for the rest of my life. For those of you “out of the know,” microbiology labs often kinda stink. And who wants to work in stink for the rest of their lives? Scientists are also kinda devious. On the offhand chance that you do cure cancer, or AIDS, or something; chances are that your lab partner or the janitor will publish your results for you. How nice of them. They, from that point on, are heralded as the saviors of humanity, why you beg the powers that be for more money to carry out your experiments. So others can steal your work and become famous. You become a senile old bat, paranoid that everyone is out to steal your work. One day the custodians find you dead in your lab, a dried up husk of scientific achievement. Simultaneously a success and a failure. In the great mechanism of the universe, successful, but no one else will know of your benefit.
So any who...
I could get myself a doctorate and teach? Oh really. So I could share my positive outlook and joy of life with budding young college students? A few more thousands of dollars down the hole. Then I'd be even less likely to turn away from science and do something different. I suppose thats what it all comes down to; isn't it? Do I turn on my heels and do something completely unrelated to the study of life? If so then what? The jobs listing in my newspaper is just depressing. I can't drive a tractor trailer (not that I'd want to), I'm not a RN (eww... leaky people), and I probably don't have five years experience doing the job I'd like to apply for.
What are my talents? I can fix almost anything. I can build almost anything if given the materials and proper tools. I'm a badass at aseptic technique. I can run and rebuild LECO analyzers, and most other types of standard lab equipment. I'm not bad with a scanning electron microscope. And in an odd twist of fate I'm fairly talented at restoring antiques, though that might fit into the category of being able to fix things.
I just wish I could find my place in the world...
I have to do it soon...
my savings won't last forever.

"They all have husbands and wives and children and houses and dogs, and, you know, they've all made themselves a part of something and they can talk about what they do. What am I gonna say? 'I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork. How've you been?'"

Professional assassin Martin Q. Blank (John Cusack) finds himself depressed and irritable, dissatisfied with his work and the increasing competition from rival assassins, including Grocer (Dan Aykroyd). Following a botched contract, Martin receives an invitation to his 10 year high school reunion in his home town of Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Initially reluctant to attend, he is pressured into it by both his therapist (Alan Arkin) and his secretary (Joan Cusack), already booking him for a contract to re-establish ties with a disgruntled client. Upon arriving in Grosse Pointe, Martin seeks out Debi Newberry (Minnie Driver), now a radio DJ, whom Martin had abandoned on prom night to enlist in the Army. When asked about his livelihood, Martin readily reveals that he is a professional killer, a response taken as a joke by everyone he meets.

25th-Jul-2008 10:34 am - Call Out To Local Friends
I have an Entertainment guide for 2008. It is going to waste. Most of the places, we don't go to, or haven't had the time or money to go to. We have the Atlanta guide. You can see on the website some of what it offers. Would any of you be interested in any of these coupons? Whether it be meeting us to eat somewhere on the list, or just using them yourselves since we aren't? XD

24th-Jul-2008 08:13 pm
FINALLY! Have time to blog. I know this is only my second entry here ( I use myspace mostly) but here goes.

24th-Jul-2008 05:42 pm - meh.
It's dark upstairs. Now that it's cooler .. I can work but I have no light. I swear I feel like I keep coming up with excuses to not do anything.

I've started to put away the beads and wire and gears. dear god I have a ton of gears. And they keep coming in the mail ! I think I may list a few lots on etsy.. while I'll always have a fondness for them I don't need that many . And some of them are huge ! and a wee bit too heavy for jewelry.

I got my torch stuff in the mail ! Woohoo but sadly my Silquar board was broken in half. I called and a replacement is on it's way . I also got the most adorable little croc pot for pickle.. http://contenti.com/products/soldering/350-101.html

It's too cute and I know I probably could have found it cheaper ,16 is still pretty good . I need to get another one for silver work

Ryan leaves for New Jersey on Sun. So I plan to spend most of my nights working .

Thats about all thats been going on.
24th-Jul-2008 04:45 pm - I quited...
I quit my job...primarily to take care of my son...another reason is I just hate it so much.
'Course, I don't know how I'm going to pay the bills without a job. I've been looking for an overnight sort of thing...applied at a convenience store and have an interview tomorrow. For $500/week it doesn't seem like a bad gig to work 11pm-8am in probably one of the safer gas station companies around here.(SafER not safe...I'm aware I may still get shot and raped)

Other than that, things are good. I go to a doctor on Tuesday to lobotimize my brain. I'm sure it'll be fun.

I have more pictures of Zack to post, when I remember to take my camera with me to the computer place.

I don't currently have internet. I get it in bursts so only update when I can.   Call me if you have my number. I know I've been bad about calling people...if this interview doesn't pan out I'll have plenty of time to hang out!!
24th-Jul-2008 04:04 pm
i don't like having to go to the doctor with vlixxens. i sit in the waiting room and play my ds waiting on him to come back out. but for the last 2 months, i've had a "buddy" in the waiting room with me.

she very loudly talks to me and asks me all about me and vlixx. she keeps asking if i live with him and when i say i do, i get a "oh wow, your mom lets you live with your boyfriend?" and she asks if i'm 30 years old (she is 38). well today she had a friend who was a middle aged jaded woman who kept telling her that men are no good, alcoholic, abusive assholes and that to cure depression, you should take walks and smile more. they talked about loud woman's "boyfriend" and how loud woman's mom wont let her move in with him. it was very interesting sitting across from their very loud conversation.

on the way back to the trains, we were standing on the side of the road while vlixx smoked a cigarette and talked to one of our clients. so i was standing there half watching a cop talk to some woman he had just pulled over. suddenly 2 more cop cars pulled up and they were talking to someone in the passenger seat. then it looked like the cops pulled out guns and were aiming it at whoever was in the passenger seat and i heard a loud POP and they rushed over and cuffed whoever it was. i saw someone get tasered. like 100 feet away. COOL.

and now i'm procrastinating cleaning and constantly checking the band's myspace page to see if i have gotten a response from some random slut who sent the account a crude message. vlixx let me respond back in my classy way. i don't think she is expecting a girl to respond. LULZ.

24th-Jul-2008 03:24 pm - Fidgety and Bored
Someone talk to me. Someone get on aim. Someone do something. I'll be here and there, I'm at work, but I usually have more social interaction at work than I'm currently having, and it's driving me insane. When I have more time, hopefully I'll post something of more interest than this, but until then... please keep a crazy girl company?
24th-Jul-2008 12:46 pm - dirty confession
