Great responses so far! thanx everyone, this has been great!

Some of you may know that I've had a lolita pin-up photoshoot in mind for some time. I finally got around to asking a photographer friend about it, and she said she would be interested. So, now it's time to get the ball rolling!

Here's what I've got planned so far:

What: An afternoon/evening of food, fun, and photos. The idea is to have a group of people with lolita style pin-up outfits and to get some awesome pictures. Everything will be pg-13, and no one will be made to feel like they're going to have to do anything they're not comfortable with.

Where: Decatur, Georgia. I will be moving into my new house at the beginning of July. The house is only new to me as it was built in 1910, and so I believe I should be able to come up with some nice backgrounds. My house is two blocks from a MARTA train station, and so I'm hoping that people will be able to get there even if they can't drive.

When: August-ish?

Who: Girls and Boys with an interest in lolita pin-ups! I would prefer that everyone who comes be people who are going to be in the pictures, but some extra people would be acceptable. For example lolitas and gentlemen who don't want their picture taken but would like to watch the fun wearing normal meet-up attire would be welcome. Everyone is encouraged to come up with a unique and individual lolita pin-up outfit or two, and even our few local cross dressing boys are welcome to get in on the fun!

Photographers: I have one that I'm going to be lining up, but I would love it if we can get more! If you have any talented photographer friends who would be willing to come and do time for prints/files, I'm all for it! It's great to get different people's styles and perspectives on the same subject.

The reason I want to start planning this well ahead of time is so that everyone can arrange for transportation and time off of work. Also I want everyone to have time to get an outfit together. If you're at a loss for inspiration, there has been some interesting lolita pin-up artwork posted to the egl community, and you can find it by searching for "pin-up" using the box on the community's user-info page.

So what do you all think? Who's interested?

So since atlanta's loliday was such a giant pile of fail... we decided to do it again: BETTER, STRONGER, FASTER!

So we all know that loliday sucked in about 25 different ways around here. So let's do it again... BETTER! My mom is out of town, but she has a very nice house over in Brookhaven right off the Marta for easy access to you non drivers and those trying to save gas. I was thinking a Sunday brunch since most of us are off at least for the first part of Sunday. I nominate June the 22nd from 12:00 - 4:00 PM and hope a few more of you can make it than to loliday.

I would like to have it where everyone brings your favorite "Tea" dish to eat: Baked goods, sandwiches, fruit, etc. nothing heavy, just tasty and finger food-ish. Can be store bought, but i don't want to be the only one providing the eats... though i will provide the drinks and at least 1 dish too. Let me know if this sounds more do-able. Cheers ladies!

At the second-to-last weekend of Ren-Fest, I was using my Baby umbrellasol. Near the pirate ship, a very nice girl and her friend recognized it as the one she had, asked if I had went to the last meet-up (Which I hadn't, I haven't been to any :D;;), and said I should come to the Loli-day meetup. Two weeks later, I've finally gotten up the nerve to introduce myself to the GA lolita community.

So after hosting the meet up in Chattanooga...i saw that a lot of people had to really travel to get here...but really enjoyed being here..

I have decided to host another 'meet up' or sorts...
I want to have up to 10 girls sleep over at my house...it is in Cleveland which is a small drive from Chattanooga (like 25 minutes)
I was curious if anyone here would be interested. Food would be provided for along with some goodies that each attendee with get that come.
We would most likely doing a little shop and making headdresses, going to chattown if wanted, pictures (always), nice meat pies(yes like in Sweeney Todd) and so on......
Would anyone be interested. As of right now i have 2 spots taken (that are not in concrete)
Seeing i have such a small space please tell me if you would like to come
ALSO i would need a preferred date...i am thinking in July...so it is nice and everything...

I was at the Decatur Arts Fest with my daughter (10 yrs) on Saturday and we were both dressed in lolita (she in sweet, me in classic)

Heya! Hope everyone that went to today's meet had fun! Let's see some pics! :D I had to miss out due to a family thing, I am sad I didn't get to see lolitas eating turkey legs ;__;

Time to start planning another meet, this time for International Lolita Day (Loliday)! Let's hear your ideas on what we should do :) For those who don't know, Loliday started in 2005 and falls on the first Saturdays of June and December. The idea is to gather, promote, and have fun celebrating our style ^__^ Generally it's held in the closest big city, in our case, Atlanta, though we can have it elsewhere too ;)

There isn't much going on in Atlanta that day... There is a festival in the Virginia-Highlands, and a convention that weekend (Sci-Fi Summer Con). If anyone has any ideas on what we should do, speak up! Last year we visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and ate at Cafe Interemezzo~

Anyway, some ideas~

Potluck Picnic & Games, Piedmont Park
Museum Trip, Fernbank, The High, etc
Potluck Tea Party, someone offer up their house ;)
???

We can of course do multiple things, like Picnic and Museum, etc, if people are down with carpooling~

But yeah! If anyone has any ideas, speak up! If not, I'll plan a meetup for a picnic :)

One things I definitely want to do this summer is organize a strawberry-picking meet up, though I think the season for that will pass by June, so maybe peach, blackberry, or blueberry, and maybe a special pumpkin picking and carving meet in October... I've done a few of these when I worked at a daycare, and they're really a lot of fun~ I'm trying to find a few pick-your-own farms around Atlanta. If anyone is interested let me know! I'll work out details later ^__^

I could've sworn that I introduced myself when I moved to Atlanta, but I guess I didn't, because there's no post or anything.

Anyway...( I'm new to ATL but not new to lolita, really. Nice to meet all of you!! )
