Recent spam aside, how's everyone doing?

I keep telling myself i'm-gonna get back on the wagon but i'm-gonnas don't work very well for me, apparently. Need to, though. It's as much about avoiding diabetes at this point as it is about the weight.

help me? jump start weight loss?
Hmm. I went on atkins a few years ago and lost about 30-35 pounds, going from 196 to 160-165-155 depending on how much im dieting. I have maintained this status via exersize/laxatives/dieting but cant lose anymore weight, which is very frustrating.

I cant find any old pics of myself on here, but I was a size 18 and am now an 11/12. I would like to be 140 pounds (I am 5'7) and a size 7-8 if possible...but am not sure how to do it. It seems like whenever I go on atkins, I stall out at 156. No matter what, I cant seem to get below that. I am 163 right now. Any help or tips on what might jump start weight loss would be very appreciated. Heres some current pics, just for the hell of it.

Damn I hate when that happens
    oh nooh no
This is a before and after and back again picture.  Statistics say that of the folks who lose 75 or more pounds that 95% gain it back in the first year.  Well hellfire, what is the point.  The point is I guess that I can't stand living at this weight.  So I am posting this as some sort of preliminary to jumping on the atkins wagon again.

Looking for a new fitness program? How about trying the Presidential Fitness Challenge. This challenge comes in three varieties:

    1. The Active Lifestyle Program - For those of you who aren't active on a daily basis yet, this is a great way to begin. The rules are basically to get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week, for a total of 6 weeks.

    2. The Presidential Champions Program - If you're already active and want a new challenge, this program is for you. Your goal is to see how many points you can earn by staying active. Points are based on the amount of energy each activity burns. So the more active you are, the more points you'll get. When you reach 20,000 points, you'll earn a Bronze award. Then you can continue on in the Presidential Champions program for a Silver or Gold award.

    3. The Advanced Performance Presidential Champions Program - This is basically the same system as the Presidential Champions Program, except that the award goals are higher. For instance, you need to get 40,000 points to earn a Bronze award.

The Presidential Champions Fitness Program Website (where you can log your progress and also order your awards when you've reached your goal)

Also, if you want, come join the LJ pres_challenge community to chat with others who are challenging themselves with this program.
