| About: | This is a community for people that cook at home and enjoy tinkering with, improving upon and creating recipes. Think of us as home kitchen Iron Chefs, or, at the very least, mad scientists with a passion for FOOD! Community Content While I will not be restricting posts to just recipes, the posting content of this community should be mostly recipes, recipe ideas, and requests for recipe help. Comments to any post may stray as far off the "cooking" path as commenters choose, but all new threads must be cooking or food related. It is not my desire to delete posts, but if a post does not belong in this community (ie: not cooking or food related) it will need to be deleted. The offending poster will be given a fair, 12 hour warning to delete the post themselves or I will delete the post myself when the warning time expires. PLEASE NOTE: Blatant spam posts in this community will NOT be given any warnings - spam or promo posts will be flagged and deleted, and the user banned from the community the moment I see them. We don't want your spam here! All pictures need to be under an LJ cut. If you don't know how to do that, go here or ask me and I will help you. Recipes do NOT need to be under a cut, unless they are lengthy. If you aren't sure, then LJ cut it anyway. PLEASE USE TAGS FOR RECIPES!! This makes it easier to find recipes later. If a recipe is healthy, light, vegetarian, kosher, etc., include those tags as well. Any member may add new tags, however, as moderator, I reserve the right to edit, add, or delete available tags and tags on individual enteries. If you are looking for a recipe idea, try looking at the tags, first, please! If you can't find something there, then ask the community, but don't be lazy, ok? Posting nutrional information (at least calories and fat, per serving) is quite welcome here. If you need help figuring out how to find nutrition information for your creations, ask me and I can help. Stories about how you created your recipe, or why, or how the family liked it, etc., are welcomed with wide open arms!!! Finally, and this is an actual rule, DO NOT POST ANY PREPRINTED RECIPES HERE! This is a community for creative at-home chefs to share their creations with the world. Do not regurgitate Betty Crocker or Rachel Ray recipes here. Yes, it's ok if your recipe isn't something totally brand new and different, or based off a preprinted recipe - even if it's your own version of Mom's apple pie, it's welcome as long as it's YOURS! If you would like to post your Mom's apple pie recipe (or a friend's, or you boss's, etc.), that's ok, too, as long as you a) have permission to share and b) give credit where credit is due. Need some help writing a recipe (it's not as easy as it looks sometimes)? Ask and you shall recieve!
