Here's Barry Zito and Eric Chavez on the Best Damn Sports Show Period, from April: Ipod ready format

urbansnowgirl commented on an earlier post about it, so, here it is for anyone else who wanted it!

ayrdaomei had posted it in four parts, and I put them all together and compressed it into one file, and the size actually isn't too big, either.

I felt kind of bad just posting that by itself, so I also decided to include a Barry picspam that I had in my journal a little bit earlier. Most of which... has already been posted to this community previously, but, I just felt bad coming in kind of empty-handed! Ah well.

Ahh, as promised, I finally bring you guys some Barry Zito icons aaanannnndd... a wallpaper too! Now, I may or may not have used some pictures that you guys posted here, since I just saved like mad whenever I found any good pictures of him... so if you feel the need to have credit for some of them, let me know, and I'll add it into my post, alright?

anyone remember these? they can all be accessed from that link - 2001, 2002 and 2003. actually, there are a whole bunch of links to audio interviews with a lot of other current/past players on there as well. i could never get them to play for me before and of course, they're not working for me now even though i have a brand new computer. i don't suppose anyone knows of a way to rip them so we can get them in here before they're eventually deleted?

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting here, but I sure did have a good time going through the tags... heh. :) I'm kind of a coming-out-of-the-closet Barry Zito fan, cause I'm actually an Angels fan but I hope you guys don't mind. I've been denying my love for Barry far too long! I'm a traitor. :(

At any rate... I was wondering if by any chance anyone would be able to upload an avi version of this video, of Barry on "At Home". I got the mov but for some reason I'm having trouble converting it to mp4, so could anyone share the avi please? If anyone just wants the mov file though, I'd be happy to share it. Let me know and I will upload it!

And, in return, to say thanks for all the AWESOME photos you guys have posted here of him, I uploaded the JAG episode that he was on. I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I skipped around to check the quality and yup, he is there, but I don't think he's in it that much... bah. Anyways, I uploaded two versions:

Not sure that there's any interest in this here, but I uploaded it for a friend of mine, so I figured waste not, want not. The video file was split into two parts to make uploading easier. To view, download both parts of the game to the same folder, click on one of the parts, and unzip it. The .rar unzipping process will handle the rest and rejoin the video file.

Game: Houston Astros @ St. Louis Cardinals.
Date: April 23, 2005.
Length: 3 hours and 40 minutes.
File Type, Size: wmv, 555 mbs.
Notes: Roger Clemens starts for Houston, gives up no runs and...gets a no decision. Mark Mulder starts for St. Louis and pitches a 10-inning complete game. Astros broadcast on FSN Southwest.

just in case you're living in a cave ...macha is officially gone. that blog cracks me up, by the way. and this one is just as good of a read:

i'm genuinely surprised to hear all of the bullshit coming out now that macha is gone. i must admit, this is the first time i'm hearing negative things about macha from inside of the organization. he had a couple of excellent seasons in the mid-90s managing a minor league team from the local city i grew up in. i suppose that's where my familiarity of his personality ends. what i can't understand is that they brought him back after letting him go once before and the players are said to have "supported" that move. i think it's pretty safe to assume macha didn't turn into an asshole overnight. perhaps billy beane needs to fire himself as well ...something doesn't add up here. the other thing that's been bothering me is zito's supposed departure. if he really wants to leave, he's entitled to that. but if it's a money issue, loaiza and calero = gone. replace them with minor leaguers who can be paid less to pitch equally as shitty. what's the problem here?

Clinch Time

Just in case anyone is interested...

If you have an account at MLB.com (or sign up for one) you can download 2 A's games for free. There is a story on the A's home page called Clinch Time. It will take you to the video download page. You can get the game when they clinched the AL West or Game 3 when they swept the Twins.

Warning: The downloads are big (mine says it is going to take 2 hours plus and I have DSL).

If you're an out-of-state fan like me, you got to see next to nothing of the A's celebration after clinching last night. MLB.tv, in its infinite wisdom, carried the Seattle broadcast of the game and of course, they ended their coverage a few minutes after the final out. (When the Mets clinched, MLB.tv carried the Mets broadcast and out-of-state fans of that team got to watch their boys celebrate for a long while after the game was over. I usually roll my eyes when people start bitching about East Coast bias in media coverage, but this irks me.)

At any rate, some poking around online this morning uncovered three minutes of raw footage of the clubhouse celebration via a local Cali station - stream // download. It's not much, but it's better than nothing, I suppose.

MLB.com also has audio clips of clubhouse interviews with several players.

eta: Also, the local CBS affiliate had 10 minutes of raw celebration footage (with an amusing warning that it might contain explicit language) on their website -- stream // download. Interviews with Mach, Big Frank, Milton, Jay, and Chavvy.

These are part of a post of clips I put up in my lj a few days ago.

oakchick75 linking to the old Chavvy video reminded me about the older TWIB videos I'd never been able to view on my old comp. I don't seem to have the same problems viewing rm streams that I did before, so I went ahead and ripped a handful of the TWIB segments from 2003 and 2002. I've also converted them to mpg, because I rather dislike the realmedia player. The quality of the twib site's rm encoding is really bad most of the time, which is probably why TPTB ended up switching all mlb.com clippage to wmv, but most of these are clear enough to pretty clear. The Kendall thing's in there because I seem to recall someone here telling me they have a preference for him ^_~

eta: also! I didn't realize until after I had converted and uploaded everything, but converting the video clips to avi instead of mpg means the files come out about half as big.
