and now for something completely different ...

[info]teenagewildlife

okay, so i'm not sure how many of you are into baseball (specifically, a's) history, but i've decided to go for this anyway. primarily because i found this to be sincerely fascinating and, in part, quite nostalgic. i do realize that a lot of you are fans of more recent players, from say, the past decade or so. i've always been into recognizing and appreciating the alumni that are responsible for paving the road on which the current players tread. i guess that's the girl in me, considerably angry and indignant when guys assume the only things i enjoy about baseball are eye black and knee high socks. don't get me wrong, i find those aspects of the game just as endearing as the next girl. like many of us, that's not all i'm interested in, though. i thought this would be a nice little foray into, well, putting faces to names where it concerns some of the game's greatest players. it's no barry zito or huston street post, but it's still just as significant to me and i hope you guys can take something away from it as well. so, without further ado, i bring you:

s.i.'s complete chronological oakland athletics cover history. )

p.s. - the mouse-overs highlight all of the corresponding information available for each cover.

p.p.s. - giambi was the last one to snag a cover? our boys are way overdue.
