Times, they are a changin'. In discussing things with head mod lady Pen this week, we came to a decision about the fate of Aternaville, and it is this. The community will remain here, no losing of threads and logs and all that good stuff from days of yore, but it will be pretty much dead as to modly involvement and what-not.

BUT!

We love Aternaville, and we love you lot, and we want the best of all worlds. So here's the thing.

We give you, Aternaville Redux. aternatopia

It's still in the planning stages, and we won't be pimping it to the public for a couple of weeks but herein lies the gist.

1. Same premise as Aternaville, merely a clean slate, starting over if you will. There is a couple of options if anyone wants to play in the new playground.

a. Pick up a new character, or play the same character, obviously your choice.
b. If you keep an existing character and wish to keep their same backstory of their life so far in AV, feel free. They can be established members of Aternaville. If you want to keep some bits of your AV canon and toss out others, have at it. It would be completely up to you if you want to start with a clean slate, or with some AV history. Keep in mind, that not all characters will keep the same history, which could affect your character's interaction, or past interaction with them. Unless otherwise agreed upon by muns, characters will essentially be interacting for the first time in AV (outside of the fandom specific universe of course. House characters would still know each other, HP charries would still know each other, etc.).
c. All current characters will be considered on hold for two weeks before going up for grabs when actual pimpage begins.

If you'd like your character held, or if you'd like to put dibs on a different character not currently on the canvas, comment and it will be so. If you're not interested in the new playground, do nothing and know that we love you anyway, cuz you guys have been awesome for quite some time now. If you have any questions, ask away.

There will be no canon puncturing in this world. Otherwise, pretty much same rules will apply.

Regardless of whether you stay or go, thanks for the ride, you guys have been fantastic!!

Hawkeye parked the car, the new shiny green car Narcissa had loaned him the Money for. Damn inflation had done a number on car prices over the past 50 years.

"So, food." He said to the blond sitting next to him somewhat fearfully. Unlike most men of his generation, he was unafraid of doing the daily tasks like cooking, and cleaning. Hell, when it had just been him and his dad for all those years he'd done it for both of them. It was that he was again confronting this new place and time.

I am speaking to you from beyond the grave *insert spooky music here*. Ok, not so much from the grave but from my desk at work, which, if you think about it, is a lot like death.

Anyway, it's that time of year again to clean house and get things back up to speed. I do apologize for the inactivity as of late, the Mods all got hammered by life at the same time and by the time we got our heads above water, things had already gone the way of the dodo bird.

The weather outside was frightful, but the coffee shop had been able to provide an insulated cardboard mug of cocoa with a bit of peppermint in, which was delightful; besides which Psmith rather did have places to go, and so although he had no inherent objection to letting it snow, he was thankful for the warmth of gloves, scarf and hot chocolate.

The order of the day was holiday shopping, and perhaps running into people and renewing acquaintances he'd let lapse recently.  There's no time like the present to remind people of your presence and perhaps get presents, after all.

Where:  Owen's house.  You can't miss it, there are signs.  And a stack of pumpkins in the yard.  And a Guy Fawkes effigy that Simon brought over to set fire to later, because who wants to wait for Monday, huh?

There were signs everywhere. Simon and Owen had put them up all over town - there was even one stuck on the TARDIS- so if anyone didn't know about the party, it was because they were blind.  Simon had briefly considered putting it in Braille as well, but that would be taking things a bit far. (Simple illiteracy was no excuse, because the signs were illustrated and had arrows pointing the way.)  And anyone who knew about the party and didn't show up was just a rotten old square and who wants them around anyway?

Halloween requires:
- The Misfits at a very high volume on the stereo
- Candy, and lots of it
- Punch the colour of blood and the strength of a good kick in the pants
- Mischief and mayhem, but hell, the Saint was there, so that was a given anyway

All of the above were in evidence, although the punch was slightly less in evidence than it had once been because the hosts had felt it extremely necessary to taste-test it rather a lot.

"Jones," Psmith had said, "it is utterly imperative that I have the use of your flat on Sunday.  I do solemnly swear not to light anything on fire which isn't expressly meant to be, but in the name of the socialist collective - far more importantly, in the name of love - not of you," he hastened to add, "although I certainly do count you as a dear friend; no, it is of Lulu that I speak.  It shall be our anniversary, you see.  We met," and here he waxed perhaps very slightly starry-eyed, although far be it from me to suggest such a thing of our staid and proper Psmith, "one year ago, in the grocer's, where I was suffering a singular difficulty in the procurement of supplies for a coq au vin; and so it seems to me that the best possible way to observe this occasion would be in the proper production of said coq au vin, I having, in the meantime, determined what, precisely, comprises a bouquet garnis."

Jones had proven amenable to the request, and Psmith had proven up to the task of creating said meal; and so it was that a rather creditable coq au vin stood upon the table - in Psmith's flat, now, it not having seemed Quite The Thing to use Jones' flat for the entire proceeding - and Psmith, changed out of the quite-rumpled shirtsleeves in which he had completed his culinary labours and into Those Jeans which Lulu insisted she liked, was resisting the urge to bustle nervously, as being out of character.
