AboutA Personal Statement:
This community is intended for use by *all* those interested in the A-Team and related fan fic. It makes no distinctions between mailing lists / archives and in particular slash or gen (although I would ask posters to respect the posting guidelines set out below). It certainly is not intended to be a forum for promotion of group over another or one archive over another. This is an attempt by myself as an individual rather than as a member of any specific group to promote A-Team Fan Fiction and the more general A-Team fandom i.e. the greater, more *inclusive* online community that we all as A-Team fans *should* belong to.
Any links that have been included in the group details are purely there *because* someone has suggested putting that link there. I am perfectly open to adding more links in but suggestions for these have to come from *you* (as all the links that have been added so far have been).
This is a new community and an experiment for me!
Online friends and I have discussed the pros and cons of a mailing list devoted to FF recommendations for the A-team fandom over a number of years. I've always felt that the ML format had certain drawbacks that would create too many difficulties for the list to work in the way it should - encouraging interest in A-team fan fic in general. Now that I've seen how some of the other fic rec lists operate on LJ, I'm willing to give this format a try.
I'll keep the guidance notes simple. ;-)
1. I'm assuming everyone here is an adult and behaves likewise :-)
2. The community is open to both members and non LJers to post in. Part of the attraction of the journal format is that it is open to the web rather than being hidden behind a complex yahoo type format. So that means authors / reccers / commenters can all see what is posted and can react accordingly.
3. Please take #1 and #2 into consideration when posting a rec / comments about a fic. Remember to base your thoughts on the fic rather than what you know or assume about an author.
4. ALL genres of fic are welcome to be recced here so as you do the adult thing and post ratings / warnings etc.
5. As an experiment I'm also opening this group up to Battlestar Galactica (TOS) recs too.
6. As per #1. every rec should have a warning / rating. It is up to YOU as a responsible READER to decide whether the fic is for YOU. If you come across something unexpected - please contact Fingers. However, I'll only be checking that the information given within the post is correct (see format below).
7. It is expected that discussion about fics that are recced will crop up and that people will disagree but please remember #1. and #3.
Required Format:
Readers will need to know:
Title
Author (email would be nice)
Location (e.g. URL, web archive, Zine name)
Warning & Rating (Those supplied by the author should suffice)
Summary of Plot (try and avoid spoiling the plot!)
Why *you* think it makes a good read.
Remember this is a new community so things will be fluid for a while!
