Rules
We're all grown ups here, so let's not get all handbags about things. I want this to be a fun community, but not totally random, so I've set up a few parameters to stick to. I don't intend to be a rules Nazi, but I may get drunk with power and wield the ban hammer if anyone acts like a eejit.
Rule 1) Stay on topic for entries, though comments can of course wander whither the wind takes them.
On topic includes:
News about the show/actors/makers.
Discussion about the show, general or specific to characters, episodes, seasons etc.
Discussion about the actors/makers.
Fandom activities, convention reports, upcoming appearances
Fan produced items, fan art, fan fiction, fan videos, adapted vans!
General team related stuff you run across.
Rule 2) Use the lj-cut for anything more than a few lines long. Think of people's friends pages! Spare them! If it's long, make a quick intro and lj-cut the rest. (Here's how to use an lj-cut.) Pics, embedded videos, fanfic should definitely be behind a cut. If any of the things under the cut are saucy, or otherwise "not safe for work", give a warning.
Rule 3) Put a subject on your entry, please. It helps when people view the month/day pages. If you don't do it, I will, and you might not like it...
Rule 4) Use tags for your entry, to help people find similar themes. Check the tag cloud on the right to see if there's an existing tag that covers it and use that. For example, an entry about Face, tag it Face. An entry about a specific episode, tag it with the full episode name. I'll try and catch any untagged ones.
Rule 5) Don't be an ass. That is, all the usual stuff, no spam, no porn, no commercial stuff, no flaming etc. You know the drill.
Rule 6) There is no rule 6.
Rule 7) News, especially about the movie, must have some kind of at least semi-reliable source, such as a news site. Always give a link. Reliable sources do not include any of the following:
A bloke you met in a pub.
The Onion.
A guy who knows this girl, whose cousin heard from the fiancé of a guy whose sister does the nails of the wife of a guy who once valeted Canell's car.
Unsubstantiated rumours will be mocked mercilessly. (If you turn out to be right, feel free to return and mock me mercilessly in return.)
Rule 8) Don't hotlink to images hosted on someone else's site. Use your LJ Scrapbook, your own site, photobucket, or whatever, but don't steal other people's bandwidth.
