Name: The World Ver. 3.12
Code: Hidden Forbidden Hacker’s Abyss
Brief Summary: A MMORPG that really puts you into the game
Motto: A Dazzling Twilight Dream (Although “Welcome to the World” seems popular)
Anthem: N/A but has awesome background music
Currency: Currency is called GP and easily earned through events, treasure chests, Arena battles, off other players, from random battles, selling things (either to shops or from a guild shop) and so on. GP earned here cannot be taken from The World or changed into Trieur.
History: The World has its own long mythology which can be found here
The history of the rest of the world started with a game designer, a woman who wrote the poem Epitaph of Twilight and an A.I. girl named Aura. The game was created based on the poem and the girl made to be the daughter of the designer and the poem writer. However, the system went crazy and it was up to the original .hackers to save the World. The World ver. 2 was created from the remaining data of ver. 1. Ver. 3 is simply another upgrade sometime after the events of the G.U. games.
Organized Bodies: The official governing bodies of the World are the administrators of CC Corp or the ‘admins’ for short. They arrange events, deal with hackers and generally act as the official police and politicians of the World. Players cannot vote on them but they can speak to them and raise concerns. Admins have the power to delete and ban characters as well, making them extremely powerful. They look like normal characters and thus blend in well.
There are also numerous Guilds. Moon Tree, Medic Unit, Kestrel, Canard, Raven, Icolo and so on. The Arena guild Icolo has great say in what happens in the Arena and Lumina Cloth in general. Moon Tree generally acts as police against PKers and PKKers. Canard is in charge of helping newbies get used to the game while Raven spends much time investigating the mysterious glitches and hidden code in the World. Kestrel is a wild card full of less than moral players. Anyone can create a guild, however.
Geography: There are currently 4 open servers for the players. Each one has stores for buying weapons, armor, items and magic, though the best of all of these are available only through quests and trading with other players. Each one, save Lumina Cloth, also has a quest shop where players can undertake quests together or do Job Extension quests.
Delta Server Mac Anu the Eternal City- The most bustling city and server being the newbie area, it’s an old fashioned port town with canals running through. Most guild bases are located here, including many nooks and crannies for players to hide and meet at. This is also where the Guild Market is located, where guilds and players can set up shops to sell items. The clock tower has a notice board for official game-wide events. This city especially has a steam punk feel to it and is constantly at sunset. (contains areas of levels 1-50)
Theta Server Dol Dona the Celestial City- A grassy, wild place built into the mountains on the ruins of an old city. A pretty place for medium strength players. (contains areas of levels 50-100)
Omega Server Lumina Cloth the Warring City- The home of the Arena and the Icolo guild. Fighting Arena battles can earn points for rare items and fighting in a tournament could lead to a chance at fighting the Arena’s Emperor. The rare item black market also exists here. A good place to meet, watch a battle, trade items and goof off. A city of lights and darkness. No fields connect to this server.
Sigma Server Breg Epona the Dual City- A lively city where the Grunty Ranch is located, along with a special weapons factory. A floating city made of stone that is good for strong players. (contains areas of levels 100-150)
Additionally, there are several Lost Grounds that can be accessed only from chaos gates via special area words. These Lost Grounds have no ‘in-game’ purpose, have not treasure, no battles and are generally just pretty places to look at.
Arche Koeln Falls at Hidden Forbidden Radiation: A single, crumbling walkway suspended very high over a deep, crystal clear lake and surrounded on all sides by sparkling waterfalls.
Coite-Bodher Battlefield at Hidden Forbidden Battlefield: A battlefield full of ruins, stuck always at night with a storm thundering in the black cloudy distance and a massive cocoon structure floating further away. There are several pillars surrounding a platform for a ritual use.
Land of Sins Ran Badhi at Hidden Forbidden Forest of Pain: A temple shrouded on a forested plateau. Data chucks are missing here and there and the temple within gives off the feeling of death.
Backtop City Megin Fi: Can only be accessed through Coite-Bodher Battlefield. A decaying, dark palace.
Briona Gwydion the Dragonbein Range at Hidden Forbidden Dragonbein: A well kept stone walkway out in the sky with turrets and a massive dragon ‘sleeping’ on one of the towers. Mountains in the distance and grey skies pierced by light.
Morrigu Barrow Wall at Hidden Forbidden Bulwark: A massive, moss-covered endless wall with a river running nearby. Sealing the entrance to heaven.
Dead World of Indieglut Lugh at Hidden Forbidden Dead Wood: A dark cavern with a small lake. In the center of the lake is a large, glowing tree that lights the cave.
The Great Temple Caerleon Medb at Hidden Forbidden Sacrement: An open air temple (looks more like a platform with coliseum supports around it) seemingly floating in space near a supernova, the temple itself slowly crumbling and swirling around in the stars. Eight platforms branch off leading to floating weapons that can be unlocked.
Hulle Granz Cathedral at Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground: A massive cathedral built in an abyss of fog, rising above it into the sunset. The name means ‘that which hides heaven.’
Sugar Mansion Sif Berg at Hidden Forbidden In Heat: What appears to have been at one time a temple and city that has been overrun by a constantly flowing lava. Rivers of lava cut through the streets and lava pours from every open nook. Only one walkway can still be used. The place where desire is controlled.
There is also the hacker haven Net Slum Tartarga, where lost bits of data and code end up. Accessible from any server with the proper hacking.
General World Knowledge: The World offers a wide variety of people. Some people prefer to solo, staying to themselves and not interacting much. Most, however, form parties or join guilds to adventure together.
The Arena provides an easy and fun way to gain fame. Some prefer to go through events only, while others power-level. Rare item hunters are common and some simply relax and enjoy the game. Player Killers (PKers) and Player Killer-Killers (PKKers) roam freely and some areas of the black market have bounty hunters dedicated to hunting them down. Players can set up shops or send their time trading, raising grunties, going on quests and any number of things.
To converse, there are three settings: Whisper, Talk and Shout. Whisper allows private conversation between two people. Talk is for average speaking and Shout is for mass contacting.
Hacking: Hacking can be done by gathering data cores and going to Lost Grounds where a symbol of Tri-Edge is. Hacking opens up options like increasing levels, unlocking rare items, transportation all across the game and general game code manipulation, including changing avatars. It can also be used to harm other players by lowering levels, affecting the status, etc. The data cores can be gathered by defeating special glitched monsters that appear in some fields.
Battles: Most battles can assume to be done. Leveling up will take several hours of game time, so simple state how it went. Don’t go overboard and assume the player gained 50 levels in one day but it’d be odd to only gain 1, so just balance for how long the character played. Levels are gained easily at first and harder later on. Battles between players will be done in threads and boss battles and quests will also be done in threads.
Demographics: The demographics for this world are the job classes that players choose from. They are as follows:
Twin Blade- An extremely fast class that uses two short swords as weapons. Although low in defense, they have the highest agility and speed ratings of any class and can combo attacks into deadly chains. Decent at magic but built more for speed attacks.
Blade Brandier- The first of two sword using classes, though this one prefers long, thinner katana styled swords. Not an entirely stand out class but a good overall attack class. They have better speed and agility than most attack classes and are better off in most situations.
Edge Punisher- This class uses giant swords, some of these swords even having chainsaw like attachments. They’re slow due to the weight of the sword and have only average defense, as they don’t wear special armor. But the sword attacks are extremely powerful and combos can be done on the chainsaw models.
Lord Partizan- A class that uses massive lances for attacking. They also wear heavy armor and thus have high physical attack and defense. Very vulnerable to magic, however, and slow due to all the weight of the weapon and armor. Still, a powerful class for pure attacking.
Tribal Grappler- This class uses their own bodies as weapons, specializing in gloves and fists for extra destructive power. They have low defense, cannot wear much armor but make up for it in raw power and speed, plus high HP. Mostly use martial arts styled attacks and skills, with little to no magic.
Werewolf- Class that can only be reached by doing a special event (a Job Extension) as a Tribal Grappler. Much like a regular Tribal Grappler but can change into a wolf on command. Increases speed, agility and attack stats while in this form but lowers defense even more.
Flick Reaper- A class that uses a massive scythe for sweeping attacks. Their attacks are extremely powerful and hit multiple enemies at once. Capable of chaining attacks, knocking back enemies and spinning energy attacks at the end of chains. An almost overpowered class but weak on defense and slow to recover between attacks.
Steam Gunner- This class is a strong attack class good for distance attacks and against flying enemies. They have weaker defense against close range enemies and try to stay away from the action, sniping at enemies instead. Are decent in magic but prefer using their gun attacks.
Dual Gunner- Class that can only be reached by doing a special event (a Job extension) as a Steam Gunner. Allows for the use of two guns with have rapid-fire capacities but also use ammo, unlike Steam Gunners. They also have heavily increased speed and the ability ‘Judgment’ which costs no SP.
Adept Rogue- A jack of all trades class that takes the best of Twin Blades, Blade Brandiers, Flick Reapers and Dual Gunners and puts them into one class. They start off weak, with unbalanced stats and only able to use Twin Blade weapons. With each Job Extension, they gain improved stats and the ability to use new weapons and attacks. Eventually becomes a high powered class capable of switching weapons on the fly, with high attack and defense. A class for those willing to put in effort.
Harvest Cleric- A class known for their light, they specialize in healing and team support spells. Mostly just a general healing class who use a staff in battle to focus their energies. They can learn attack magic but it will be weak. Very low defense points and stay on the outskirts of battle, waiting to heal teammates.
Shadow Warlock- Known for their darkness, this class specializes in attack magic and summoning, using large books that float in front of them as weapons. They are an extremely lightweight class, with low defense points but very high in magic attack points. Often stay on the outskirts of battle to cast spells from a distance.
Macabre Dancer- A lightweight class that uses fans for attacking and often look like they’re dancing through the battlefield. Specialize in status effect spells, especially those leading to enchantment so that enemies will do the fighting for them. They are also balanced between healing spells and attack magic.
Job Extension Quest Notes: After hitting level 15, players can take on Job Extension quests at any Quest shop. These quests will allow them to change or shift their jobs. For Adept Rogues, Steam Gunners and Tribal Grapplers, this allows special access to hidden extensions and upgrades. For all other characters (including the aforementioned classes) it allows for carrying on the skills already earned in the previous class. The current class becomes the primary class and is the only one that will continue to grow and gain skills as the player levels up. Thus, a Harvest Cleric can switch to a Steam Gunner and still be able to use rods as a weapon and have access to healing and support spells. However, the player will stop learning Harvest Cleric spells as they level up, instead learning Steam Gunner abilities.
