| hello community. recently pluto has moved into capricorn, which means that, for me, it's transiting my 2nd house and is in direct opposition to my natal jupiter and mars in cancer. I'm having a hell of a time with this transit. i'm nervous **all** the time (and not just regular-virgo nervous!) and intensely angry -- a deep scorpionic anger, the seething vengeful kind, utterly disproportionate to whatever is pissing me off in that moment. i'm having trouble controlling my temper, and one of these days, if i don't get a handle on it, i'm gonna fly into a rage over something and get myself in alot of trouble. i'm hoping to get a little break as pluto retros back into sag, but that's only a temporary solution. this opposition is going to be with me for quite some time, as pluto moves very slowly. one weird thing about this particular aspect is that there's scorpio energy on both ends, with mars and pluto in the mix. it's really hard to explain, but i feel this tenuous sort of energy within me, pulling at me all the time, it's nuts.... i'm thinking that i need to use this "break" to reflect on this aspect and figure out how to deal with it -- which is why i turn to you, lj-astrologers. what are your thoughts on this opposition? any tips on how to handle it? anything jump to mind about pluto oppositions? my natal chart with transits for today is under the ( cut ). thanks millions. | I've posted a beta version of my LaTeX macro package for typesetting wheel charts. I don't know how many people here use LaTeX, but if you do, this will probably be of interest. Comments and testing would be appreciated. The 116-page manual (PDF file) may be of interest even to non-LaTeX users. I've been working on this macro package off and on for about four years; this is the first publicly-released version. - Mood:accomplished

| About 95% of the time when I'm checking the time, I usually encounter an interesting combination of numbers. Such as 1:11, 2:22, 2:11, 3:15pm (15:15), 7:11 (like the store), 9:11 (like the catastrophe), 9:15 (a special day for me), 11:11, 10:10, and 3:33.
This has only started occuring since about 2 months ago... but it happens everyday. And I'm usually thinking about something that I'm second-guessing my self about. As soon as I see the time, it's almost like this feeling that I shouldn't doubt my intuition. At first I thought it was absurd, but the frequency of it and the fact that I physically made myself think what could be bringing this about makes me believe it a little bit. If anyone out there is having something similar, please let me know. I'd also like to see your natal charts if possible.
EDIT: I need more charts! PLEASE participate!

| I was doing my family charts and noticed with my parentd and grandparents that they were attracted to people with signs they were lacking. Example My father is Gemini with no Pisces and my mom is Pisces with no Gemini. My grandfather is a Cancer with no Leo or only having one Virgo (neptune) while my Grandma is Virgo ( sun and neptune ) with no cancer. I was wondering if anything this is just a fluke in my family or if this a really possible to use. Would defently like to hear what you guys think and would love to have bigger pool to sample of to see if this really works. | |

| Hello,
I'd like to get a little advice on how write out a basic chart. If, for example, the sun is in Gemini, how do you know where to put the Sun glyph on the chart? Is it related to how your rising sign is calculated? (I know how to do that). Would anybody know a good resource for learning some of the basics of setting up a chart by hand?
Thank you very much | |

| <lj-cut text="from www.astrologyzone.com">
..."The month ends on a turbulent note. A lunar full moon eclipse will arrive in Pisces on August 28 and be operative plus or minus one week from this date. This full moon eclipse falls in Pisces, so an endeavor or relationship that is vital to you will reach culmination. Through a rather unexpected incident the character of someone close will be illuminated, but not likely in a way you are pleased to see. You may become upset, shocked, or completely surprised with what you hear, and it seems to involve a very close relationship, such as a spouse, sweetheart, committed companion, business partner, agent, or other important individual in your life. You may become outraged or saddened by what you see, and it all will come to you in a rather weird, unusual way. I say that because at the time of the eclipse, Saturn will be very close to the Sun, and Mercury will be opposite Uranus, the latter being quite a nerve-jangling aspect. Actually, with Uranus, the planet ruling unpredictable events, you never know what could come up. You might get good news, but you don't have to plan for that - only the kind that makes your hair stand up straight. Lunar full moon eclipses bring endings, which is why they often are so emotional. Memories, dreams, and hopes all come into play. Open the window and you will hear a lot of people screaming. I am joking, but truly, this eclipse is a wicked one, full of power and fury. Many people will feel the tension, not just Pisces. When you turn on TV, you could easily see reports of very bad weather, especially involving water, such as heavy rains, flooding, oil spills, toxic waste, or other water-related problems. Those scenes on the TV will in a way mirror some of the storms you are feeling inside. Try to keep your calendar free of heavy obligations at this time, because it will be hard to concentrate on any normal activities at month's end. This eclipse may end up feeling like a wakeup call - it's one that is from the universe, trying hard to protect you. All eclipses bring outside events to bear, ones over which you have no control or pre-knowledge. The job of an eclipse is to show you something in a very graphic way so that you won't ignore what you learn and will do something about it immediately. As quickly as this eclipse comes, it will be soon gone, and you will know with certainty what you need to do. All through this period, protect your health, as eclipses can be draining. Sometimes health problems show up at eclipse time, but if so, again, the eclipse is trying to make you aware of something so that you will quickly go for help. Allow for the possibility that you won't fully understand all that is happening at once, but only in hindsight, weeks or even months from now. Eclipses kick up lots of cosmic dust, so it takes time to assimilate all the shifts. You will come away feeling new, dear Pisces, and you may even decide to change your appearance. That's a common reaction, for those shifts in your looks will only reflect changes taking place deep within you. Whatever is to be swept out of your life was apparently not securely fastened, but you may not have noticed. Now you will. The eclipse is trying to help you. You've been through eclipses in Pisces and your opposite sign of Virgo this year, on March 3 and 19, and in 2006, on March 14, and September 7 and 21. Those Pisces who were born on or within five days of February 26 will experience the biggest lifestyle changes, as this eclipse will fall at 7 degrees of the sign...." </lj-cut>

| so i've been trying to figure out some comparative planet-sign stuff for myself and a friend.. this is complicated by 1- not knowing her birth time (hence planets but not houses) and also by not being so sure how to interpret some of the more contradictory indications i've seen. i was wondering if anyone might want to tell me exactly what sort of compatibility/problem issues might be at work here, considering the positive and negative indicators. of course, without houses some of this is a bit foggy, but hopefully not completely. | I posted a question about the Arabic Parts in synastry and I didn't really get an answer, so I'll try to make it more general... any personal experience with the Arabic Parts you could tell me about would be really apprecaited too...
OK... in synastry... if someone activates your Arabic Parts... is it felt mutually?
Like, let's say... your partner's planet activates your Arabic Parts of Happiness... does that mean you will both feel the "happiness"... or will the planet person only make the Arabic Parts person feel the effect?

| To fellow astrologers: In composites, do you look for (what I call) 'balancing effects'? For example, Sun Trine Saturn in the composite as well as Jupiter Square Pluto? The trine represents cooperative and enduring qualities while the square denotes conflicting personal interests. Though involving different planets, these aspects could 'balance' each other in aspects such as business or personal finances. This is not such a perfect example- but I hope you get the gist. | |

| This is a Vedic related question: Has anyone tried out this point system, found a low/medium score, but feel a great connection with your partner?
The Ashkoot point system is used widely on free vedic websites online. The point system is based on the nakshatra combination between the person of interest and you. The ashkoot point system is graded as- low, medium, good, and excellent.
The excellent grade is theoretical where such high idealized compatibility is delineated, but in reality, the match doesn't work. The low grade is unanimously addressed as a match that should be avoided. The ashkoot point system also takes into account if you are Mangalik or Chandra Mangalik.

| Magha- Industrious. An alternate name for this nak. is Simha. Both mean "Lion"... this span of the zodiac is specificially directed towards the star Regulus. Magha people are very in-tune with who they are and what they stand for. They love promulgating their name. They aren't particularly good with money, however, since they see it as a means of ostentation with/without being profitable. Magha is a demon nak.
Ashlesha- Keen and controlled. This nak. comes before Magha. Unlike Magha, Ashlesha nak. people often have a controlled approach to money. They are hard workers and perform their duties with a degree of exactitude and perfection. Their lives are a whole lot less vibrant than their Magha counterpart.
Meena- This is nak. proclaims beauty. People under this nak. are often vain and put a lot of work into their physical appearance. They can be critical of other people's appearances even when their own may need some work. Soft-spoken, they often prize being demure.
Uttara Phalguni- This nak. is, I believe, found in Virgo. One of the most congenial nak.s out there. Being of human nak., they have good business skills and prefer to be Vice Presidents over Presidents of companies (and any other facet of life). They like to be given direction and are often pragmatic in their approach to life.
Anuradha- This nak. is of the God/Goddess kind. Anuradhas are very peculiar creatures in that they have very high standards of living without ever fathoming the huge undertaking that is required for it. Usually, they are happy and content by themselves. They are knowledge seekers and read a little bit about a lot of different subjects. They are known to have vast repositories of miscellaneous information inside their minds. Great conversationalists.
Ardara- This is nak. is known for being secretive. They take joy in learning about the darker side of society. They prefer to be alone and watch life and it's undercurrents. They are mystery seekers and solvers. Their open-mindedness allows them to analyze situations from different viewpoints unlike any other nakshatra. They know how to put on a great disguise.
Poorva-arshada- Known for their straightforward talk, they are great business people. Practical, consistent, and often stubborn they are the masters of their own destiny. They amass wealth slowly but consistently. They make perfect supervisors but horrid public relations people. Diplomacy isn't their strong point.

| Good compatibility is always hard to find. Sometimes, in synastry, true nodes (which are mathematical points) can be used to determine long term compatibility. True nodes determine where life is taking you. At least, that is the impression most astrologers make of it. The sign in which the true node lies in the natal is just as important as the sun sign. Which leads to the question- what's so special about it when it comes to synastry? The overall impression I have had of true nodes is that conjunctions, trines, and sextiles made either by the sun or venus of the other partner usually denote a favorable aspect. Even more beneficial is when both partners have their true nodes in the same sign. | |

| I am curious as to the opinions of this statement:
"We may perceive reflections of astrology in science. Some contend that the future may therein be deciphered. However, with the exception of certain works in mundane astrology, one might safely say that most astrological predictions would come out false if exhaustive studies were conducted. The supposed accuracy of certain predictions thus lies in simple statistical odds. If isolated national and world events, such as the changing of a government majority or the fall of the soviet block, have been successfully predicted, this accuracy most likely stems from the predictor's sense of history and geopolitics. Astrology does play its part, but only as a resonance on the grid of possibilities that makes up the infinite game of 'astrological aspects'."
As an astrological researcher, I have used transits in some readings. I have not ever used transits to predict events in my life, though I have speculated that certain outer planetary transits that are coming in the near future will have a profound effect upon my personal evolution.
Do any of you use transits for more specific prediction? Do you find it accurate? Explain.
This quote is taken from an article in the CG Jung page, titled "A Transdisciplinary Approach to Science and Astrology" by Alain Nègre.

| To those of you at the age of 25 or the older ones that have already gone through this influence:
I am curious about how transiting Pluto conjunct natal Neptune has affected you so far, and now that it is going direct for the last time, what do you think that you have learned from this?
Before Pluto conjuncted Neptune, he squared my Venus, which I have to say, was pretty interesting. Pluto is currently leaving a sextile with his natal position and finishing up with the conjunction to natal Neptune. My Sun happens to be in the same degree (3 signs away) from my natal Neptune, thus hampering my sun with a square and also dousing Neptune--giving me a double whammy of excitement during Pluto's stationary position at 24 degrees of Sagittarius.
Anyway, for those of you who are my age, you can at least sympathize with the Pluto conjunct Neptune scenario. Astro.com calls this "inner transformation", which I deem an interesting title to the clashing of two outer, collective planets. What of this inner transformation then? How do you think that you have begun transforming since Pluto first started toying with Neptune? If you also have Neptune at 24 degrees Sag, think back to mid-Feb 2005 into mid-May 2005, again in Dec 05, and finally in 2006 from July to the end of this month. He will finally move into 25 degrees for the last time in November. I suppose if I thought about it, I have had a lot of inner developments, but a lot can happen in the time frame of a year and a half. I feel like I have grown into myself more deeply. There has been a questioning of my spiritually, an exploration into my sexuality, and an deep desire to really know myself. The square to my sun during this time has also deeply affected me. I won't know for sure what this whole time has brought about until Pluto finally stops harassing my inner planets as well, which won't be for another several years, but by then, Uranus will be having the time of his life with my Venus/Sun/Mars conjunction as well. But that's besides the point.
For those of you who are 25 and going through perhaps a similar quarter century crisis that I am, I would love to hear what you have to say about this. If there are others that have already dealt with this outer planetary conjunction, I am similarly intrigued to hear your stories. Despite Pluto's degradation by the astronomical society, I refuse to let that change my personal and astrological opinion of the great planet. Size really doesn't matter to me. I had to say it.
Ok, your turn. | |

| As I have aged, and dated, I have found that my attractions have patterns that are clearly seen in composite charts.
For example, I have found that the three people whom I have only loved in relationships have a Moon Conjunct Saturn in the composite chart.
However, this pattern is beginning to change... the Moon Conjunct Saturn repetitiveness has begun to dissipate while another pattern, Mercury Sextile Mars, is beginning to show in greater frequency.
It feels as though the last person I loved was the beginning of a transition. Where the composite had both Moon conjunct Saturn and Mercury Sextile Mars, I have dated many others after that that only have the Mercury Sextile Mars in the composite- over and over again.
Interestingly enough, these people are NOT all within a certain age group. Which means that the frequency of having similar Mars and Mercury placements in the natal that would heighten probabilities of having the same placement for the composite- are slim.

| Has anyone here looked at possible astrological significance of Charon (not Chiron)? It came to my attention because it's on the IAU's list of proposed new planets, and it's an interesting one because it forms a double with Pluto. Charon and Pluto are always within one second of arc of each other when viewed from Earth, so if you plot it on a chart in the normal way, it's basically just the same thing as Pluto. I've been thinking about other ways it could be used, and I posted an article on my Web site with some ideas on that. - Mood:thoughtful

| I did a chart for myself and then did a couple online, one from Astro.com one from Astroadvice.come and one myself and they are quite different. Now the books I used to calculate from home are a little old, but I hardly think that should make much of a difference. Anyway, I am a Taurus either with a rising sign of Virgo or Leo it would seem. But as you can imagine changing the rising sign alters the chart considerably. Now i would say I have virgo traits, but my moon is in virgo either way. So do people generally trust the charts generated by Astro.com? And why would there be a distepency from the same data?
Also I have Saturn in the 12th house under Leo, so I imagine that would make a difference as well. And I hear the 12th house is a bit of strange on for some reason... when I read the interpretations though it pretty much matched me to a t.
This discrepency effect the 8th house as well, where either I have both Mars and Venus within it (Aries), or just Mars (Picies) and Venus in the 9th.
I am rather new to this. It has been a long time since I have looked any material over and charted anything and I have never used an online charter before. So any help would be appriciated. - Mood:confused

| I ran away for a week on vacation, and have found myself back at work with my heads still in the clouds. I cannot focus or concentrate at all, and I can't explain how excited I am to get out of here at the end of the day and hit the tennis court to release some energy! Anyhow, I believe I asked about ancient astrology previously in astrology, but I am curious who in here might also have experience with it. Have you used the ancient methods at all? From what I have read so far, I is supposedly extremely precise and predictive. There is no psychobabble and no evolutionary concepts, though the ancients were ruled by fate as well. Currently, I am reading Crane's "Practical Guide to Traditional Astrology" and I feel like I need an astrological dictionary to get through it. He is extremely technical in detail and not very explanatory. I am really looking for a more ancient "cookbook" type astro book and I have heard that the Ptolemy book is more like that. Do any of you have experience with ancient astrology interpretation? Does it apply for you? | |

| Hey everyone,
Things are running smoothly so far, and I've gotten some exciting responses, and some thought provoking ones as well!
I checked out our "to-do" list, and saw Chiron in there. Since Chiron is highly prominent in my chart--directly conjunct my Taurus Asc on the 14th degree--I decided to pick him off of the list.
I find this placement extremely daunting. Chiron and Taurus make for a stubborn combination. Sometimes I cannot give myself a break. I am terribly hard on myself. On the positive side, I want to help people out and make them feel better about themselves. I would describe it as working through my own self-consciousness by trying to boost others.
Where is Chiron in your chart: house, sign, aspects? Do you feel that you understand/respond to Chiron in your chart (because of it's debatable significance)? What's your opinion on Chiron?

| I have been looking into and following psychology as a viable option for my future, and thanks to my extremely progressive school, Goddard College, I am able to study topics which most narrow-minded liberal arts colleges wouldn't even dare to teach. Because of this, my senior study (which is not for another semester) is going to be based upon psychology and astrology. Most research done in the psychology community is based upon the need to debunk astrology. This is strange to me, since in all fairness, their issues with astrology are based on a lack of research and knowledge about the topic. In my senior study, I do not intend to try to prove astrology, but I want to be able to use it objectively within my research to connect its ancient ideals with psychology, the modern form of therapy. Subjectively, astrology works in my life, I can watch the planets and understand their affect upon me and the way my life has shaped so far, I can manipulate it in a way to reorganize myself and stress my strengths rather than my weaknesses. But in my research, I want to take a naked eye upon the subject and compare its basis to that of psychology.
To begin with, I want to look at the sun. Since science tends to look upon the Sun sign first, that is where I want to start, and in using the whole chart, explain how one would identify more or less with their Sun sign. The testing I will do for this in the future will be a bit more rigorous, but for now, I want to start with a few questions here.
What is your sun sign? Do you identify with the traits assigned to your sign? if not, what traits do you identify with? As an astrologer, what aspects, house placement, etc. influence the manifestation of your sun?
I am a Pisces sun: mutable water, receptive, sensitive, idealistic, introspective, mystical, compassionate, impractical, illogical, moody. I identify and embrace all of my Pisces traits. I have two other planets in Pisces, Mars and Venus, both conjunct my sun, which stresses my Pisces nature in those areas of life. Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, squares these three planets, enforcing some of the negative Pisces traits--addiction, codependance. The trine from Uranus adds energy and a bit of intellect to my nature, helping me to learn about myself and others rather than just let the negative traits take hold.
Your turn! | |

| Hello Everyone! It has been almost a month since the last post in this community, and since mirtas came back, I noticed he wanted some help, so I offered to lend a hand. I am on trial though...so I won't go too crazy. ;) So, as an introductory post, I want to say hello to everyone and let you take a gander at my chart if you wish, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/alicial/Mychart-1.gifLet's go on with the transits, on the info page, I believe Saturn is the next planet in question. He is resting upon my North Node more recently, which has really pushed me to start thinking about and planning where I am going on my evolutionary journey. In my natal chart Saturn is conjunct Jupiter in my Libra 6th house and forms a very wide orbed opposition to my Pisces 11th house Mars. I have never felt Saturn to be a huge player in my chart, or Jupiter for that matter. Though when Saturn comes around, he does bring out a strong need for patience in my life. I am interested to hear what your experiences with Saturn are: Where is Saturn in your chart, what are the major aspects? What does Saturn represent for you? What have you learned from Saturn's transits, return, etc? | |

| Hello Everyone, For those who don't know, I wanted to stress the fact that Astro.com supports it's links to private charts for only about a day or so. That means, if you're posting a chart (which is highly recommended), please use other image hosting sites such as Imageshack or Photobucket. Save the chart onto your computer and upload it to either site. Both sites have perks... check them out and decide for yourself! This way, your posts will be viewable for months at a time and the chances of getting responses become greater when your chart doesn't "expire." Thanks, M | |

| I suppose this goes under horary astrology? But here is the chart for the first instant my boyfriend and I saw each other (yes, the time is exact, as I was getting off a plane). Photobucket is down, so hopefully I can temporarily direct link to astrodienst. ( the chart )My question is, how would one go about looking at this chart? I'm looking at it similarly to a composite chart, though please steer me towards a better direction if there is one. I am concerned about Saturn hanging right by the ascendent there. I also cringe a little at the Capricorn moon, though I know I shouldn't. The both of us have Pisces moons, which seems like it would be significant with the MC. Especially my boyfriend; his moon is at 12 Pisces, only two degrees away. Also, his Sun and this Neptune are both at 17 Aquarius. (Sun: 17'35. This Neptune: 17'36) None of my planets are conjunct with this chart like that. I guess this is the kind of boring "TELL ME ABOUT MY RELATIONSHIP!" post but I hope it's different enough to be interesting. X-posted a bit. | |

| Hello everyone. I wanted to start a conversation about Pluto, and I have the perfect example. A friend of mine, whom I haven't spoken with in months and even years before these few months, has recently contacted me. We began communicating through emails, and he told me about his issues with his wife, who he recently separated with, the guy who cheated with his wife, and other such issues of depression and self deprecation. I attempted to cheer him up with my optimism, and told him I would take a look at his chart to see when his problems might let up. After looking at his transit chart, I found myself wondering if he would EVER have a break. When I noticed transiting Pluto sextiling his natal Moon, I didn't think it was such a huge deal, since it's "only" a sextile. Then I went back and realized, Pluto has been sextiling each planet in his Libra stellium since 1996. On top of that, Pluto conjuncted each planet in that stellium from birth! So I could only imagine the transformation and deep rooted issues he has dealt with in his life, but I can't even explain or even comprehend them. Under the cut is his chart for your viewing pleasure... ( Bill's Chart )If anyone has any interesting Pluto information they might want to reveal, I am all ears at this point. I have been dissecting this planet for the past couple weeks. I have Pluto sextiling my natal Mercury at the moment, which is where my fascination with Pluto began. | |
