***We are looking for volunteers!***
We are seeking volunteers to help us teach knitting or crochet to people attending the event who wish to learn. We advertised the event as a place to share and learn with each other. We are looking for someone who is at least at an intermediate level and can show someone how to crochet (chain stitch, single crochet, possibly double crochet if they got the hang of it) or knit (basic cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch if they got the hang of it).
Please email me directly if you would like to volunteer to teach knitting or crochet this Saturday for Knit In Public day. Or contact me if you still have any questions about instruction. We greatly appreciate your help for this great event!
See you all tonight! Stay cool! Looks like it's gonna be a beautiful day!

hello crafters!!!
it's time to meet for ACK again!
join us tomorrow, Thursday October 11, 2007 at about 8pm ish at Freeze Peach (www.freezepeach.org) for
another evening of crafting!
feel free to bring your current work in progress, or anything that you have finished recently-- we'd love
to check it out!
and be sure to post anything you'd love to show off and brag about on our blog :)
also-- i've updated the blog with our pumpkin picking extravaganza at the queens farm.
so, we were thinking-- let's carve pumpkins on October 21st, 2007 at my place-- time to be announced. if you
would like to attend, please respond so that i can notify you all of more details (such as my address)
and what to bring with you, etc.
if you did not pick pumpkins with us, you can still carve pumpkins with us! just pick your own pumpkin at
your favorite pumpkin patch, or a local supermarket (i've seen a lot of nice pumpkins around....)
also, someone posted on our blog about an event that will be going on this weekend where you can pick
pumpkins:
"I am on the board of the Sunnyside Gardens Park located at 48-21 39th Avenue - just up from the Old
Navy and Toys R Us on Northern Blvd. We are a historical landmark 3 acre usually private member run
park. On Saturday 10/13 from noon until dark, we are turning the park into a PUMPKIN PATCH and hold an
Oktoberfest. We are open to the public this day and welcome all. This is a great family day and we will
have hundreds of pumpkins and plenty of fresh air. We're also having greenmarket vendors and arts and
crafts for the children. Pumpkin painting is free if you buy from the patch. I hope to meet plenty of my Astoria neighbors! "

*if you would like to learn how to knit or crochet, please bring your own materials (yarn, appropriate knitting needles, appropriate crochet hook) and someone in the group is bound to help you learn a new craft. if you do other crafts, please bring them along, we'd love to see what you are working on! If you would like to be put on the mailing list, please private message me with your email. thanks!*
hope to see you all tomorrow night!
